I’ve been looking into Akliouche a bit more, just in case it has legs (my suspicion is PSG will now pull their finger out to sign him, but let’s see).
The main point I want to say is that Akliouche is not slow! He isn’t lightning, like a Barcola, but he seems pretty fast to me. He is a thoughtful player, very good passer, and should link up well with others. Having looked into him a bit more, I want to revise my initial view and say he is fast enough.

Looks like Atlético Madrid are getting Kang in-Lee from PSG so hopefully we get some movement with Diomande/Barcola/Torres/Akliouche and whoever the fuck else us and them have been linked with.

Was just coming to say the same. He’d not be the fastest winger in the but he’d certainly be quicker than most and have enough pace to trouble most defenders.
What’s actually quite impressive is how closely he controls the ball whilst carrying it at speed. There’s no hoof and rush about him, it’s all very controlled. There’s a touch of the Kvaratskhelia about the way he carries it. Not as polished yet but just the way even at speed it all looks very under control.
He’s also got a decent initial burst for someone who seems quite long limbed. He’d never be a twitched up Doku type but I think concerns around his pace are being overstated.

That’s the guy it’s been said Akliouche is intended to replace. PSG have been linked with him for a long time now, I assumed it was pretty much a done deal.

This is what I meant earlier about him. You very rarely see him going at the full back through the side line of the box, or getting round them on the outside.
He spends a lot of time within the width of the box. He´ll come inside and his full back will get round the outside mostly. if he he is wide it´s usually quite far back
He has excellent technique and passing play and a good shot.

If Barcola is so shit hot and £100m+ why is PSG so keen to get rid of him. And why is he not a starter? Not many bench players are worth that much. Does he have an attitude problem or maybe not the hardest worker? Anyone.

PSG is a weird club, and it’s hard to say who is a backup player and who is a starter for them because they basically give all their players a lot of rest. Barcola had more league starts than Dembele, Kvara, Doue, or any other PSG attacker, and he led PSG in league goals. He often came off the bench in the Champions League, but it’s hard to say he wasn’t a starter for them.
He gets into good goalscoring positions and takes his chances well. As Liverpool fans, we’ve sort of been conditioned to want wide players with high goalscoring output because of how great Mo, Jota, Sadio, and Diaz have been at scoring from wide areas. So I understand why a lot of people want Barcola, even for a big fee.
He’s not my preference, but if it happens, I won’t be upset about it.

He largely competes with Kvara, Dembele and Doue. He plays for them in most of PSGs league games but doesn’t tend to make their first 11 for big CL ties (but subs on as the first attacker).
He started most of the world cup games.
I suspect PSG need to shake things up as he’s unhappy with lack of big game paying time, so it makes sense to shift one and bring a younger one in.
PSG will always tell the media they want a ridiculous fee - we shall see where it ends up. If Liverpool are interested, we need to get on with it.
The timing of the Akliouch interest from us being in the media is interesting - he’s another one linked with PSG (but at 24 not the young one to replace Barcola).
My gut it we will end up with one of the two. PSG will get Diomande as we know.

No he wants to play regularly not a bit part of the team however he knows he has a huge obstacle to overcome the flying Georgian winger!

Barcola probably is one of the top 3 realistic options out there.
I guess you´d say Kvara, Dembele, Olise, Vini Jr and Yamal are the best 5 wide players in the world.
We just have to be looking for the next one of those. We´ve done it before. Hard to say who they are though.

As for RB/LB, Djed Spence is now a no-brainer target for us. Homegrown, young, play well on both wings. Basically a Gomez replacement with a twist.
I think he can even walk into the starting 11 as our No.1 RB with Bradley’s injury and Frimpong’s weaknesses in a back four system.

Not sure this one has been posted. 8% aerial win rate sticks out as surprisingly poor. He played for Iraola at Bournemouth and signed by Hughes for what it’s worth, before heading off to PSG.
