The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

they thought they were superior to us, got played just as we did, fuck em

Feels like LFC have been the pawns in this game of chess.

So that means Barcola is also staying put?

That would be fine by me, at the quoted price?

Maybe but on the other hand he is refusing to sign a new contract and is down to two years left on his current deal. PSG might just sell if they get a good enough offer.

I’m guessing it depends on him; if he’s comfortable being the 4th guy in the PSG attack for another season or if he wants to go somewhere else.

I am convinced 6 weeks ago naive Richie Hughes thought he can pull off both Barcola and Diomande for less than £135m combined after the World Cup.

Muñoz was probably a quick fix suggest by Iraola after they made us believe Diomande alone will cost close to that £135m.

Don’t think Diomandes camp were ever interested in Liverpool. They and PSG played us like a fiddle and now a Ā£65m player like Barcola suddenly costs Ā£100m.

I doubt it they don’t want another diva like MbappĆ©.

More like a noughts and crosses.

What goes round comes around now they probably know how we feel being played for a sucker.

How is anyone saying we got used? We pulled out of this one a month ago and have been fairly obviously looking for other targets.

We got used to get PSG to sit on their arse for a month whilst waiting for Madrid to decide they were interested.

As a negotiating tactic to get you a move to PSG it’s genius.

No what I meant is he kept us in the nƩgociations until he made his choice for PSG but they found out his choice is based on money. All that BS about since his childhood he always followed Paris. He probably will change the name of the club he most admired to Madrid .

Yeah but our involvement ended ages ago now. The only one who got messed around here was PSG.

His problem now he’s just another shiny toy to polish the subs bench.

We never pulled out. If yesterday they told us we can have him for Ā£115m we’d likely accept.

Anyway Yan enjoy playing RWB in Mous Back6.

We had a bid of €116m rejected just over a month ago and never returned with another bid.

Yeah we may have come back in if Leipzig had lowered their demands or the player made it clear he wanted us but neither of those things happened and we have pretty clearly moved on to looking for other targets.

I’m kind of okay with that. Seemed a lot of money for a teenager with one decent season under his belt, looked nothing special at the World Cup and has some dodgy agents stuff going on.

If he doesn’t hit the ground running there he’ll be getting whistled before the end of the season. Doubt Real can keep him, Vini, Mbappe, Rodrygo and Endrick, let alone Brahim Diaz and Mastantuono all happy and all playing nice. There are some huge cliques in that squad and his experience will depend hugely on who he fits in with.

I wonder if Vini Jr might now go to Arsenal. He has a year left on his deal and Diomande strikes me as the replacement, as they only like to sign players on a free, not let them go on a free! Vini is a very good player but he also seems a bit toxic to me, and if he goes to Arsenal he will blow up their wage structure and potentially cause disharmony.

Then what of Barcola? He has made it clear he wants to go, but there are two years on his deal and PSG don’t have to do it. I think they probably will, mind, and they will sign Akliouche.

The price will sting, but he is a very good player and we have a clear need. Hopefully we get it nailed down sooner rather than later.

I’m a bit more chilled on the midfield, in comparison to sorting the wing and the defence. I suspect a midfield signing might be dependent on someone like Macca deciding to move on.

It feels like a few big moves are going to drop now that the chain reaction is starting. Hopefully we come out of it with Barcola.
