The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

That sounds like a good plan.

Hopefully Leoni and Jacquet can get a good year of football under their belt this season and be ready to be our starting pair for 27/28. We’d need Marma to properly stake a claim to that no.1 shirt otherwise we’ll be needing to go into the market for a new keeper.

We’ll probably need a proper RB too, either as cover for Bradley or as an upgrade, at least in terms of fitness.

Then we have the midfield questions hanging over Jones, Mac Allister, Elliott, Endo…we’ll be needing to recruit at least 2 there as well.

So next summer Rayan, RB, 2 in midfield, possibly a goalkeeper.

If we can get any of that business done this summer (specifically RB and midfield) that would be helpful.

I think Gakpo will be difficult to sell due to his current wages and hence his wage demands later on.

There’s been some chatter about Spurs being interested, and as they’re paying £275k pw for Tonali in theory they could afford his wages.

I could imagine that. Spurs are mad .

Well, De Zerbi said they’re not done shopping, and they will add another ‘bomba’ signing as he called it. They’re looking to buy Savinho, but could add another attacker in addi to him.

The club is financially healthy, and well run in that regard. Big wages have also been cleared from the books in recent years.

We also havent spent big in windows prior to last summer, and did nothing in Jan either.

Yup there was a BBC article about a year old now reviewing each clubs positions. It’s not surprised me that Spurs have had the space to spend this year.

Players are usually bought and sold on credit through instalments, so it wont be down to offsetting against moves just this summer.

Also, the club have a loan facilty they can borrow from which had a lot of room to draw down form £250m + i think was what the athletic referred to.

Yeah I get all that. It just seems our net income at the end of each fiscal year is pretty thin. I’m definitely not complaining.

Don’t forget net income figures will include the writing down of the value of assets (i.e player values as their contracts wind down). This can hide the amount of cash the club has available to spend.

Yep…I get it.

If Madrid sign Diomande, I wonder if we could get Endrick, even on loan.

He´s magic. Got world class written all over him.

We’re on the verge of someone mentioning amortisation.
Give me a rumour please!

It’ll cost you. How many years would you like to spread the payments over?
