As we need a LW,
Get a cheeky bid in Mudryk!
He’ll be chomping at the bit to prove himself after his ban!

Wirtz was always a 10.
Hopefully this makes it easier for Iraola. Play 2 up front in that 4-4-2. Isak and Hugo (when he happens to be fit) and have two reliable backups.
Chiesa and Gakpo. Let’s see.
Either way , I think we need a striker
These calls for Mudryk are wild. I assumed the first one was a joke but that’s two now.
Have people forgotten how utterly garbage he was for Chelsea before his ban, and now he’s not played a minute of football for two years… I doubt he’s got any better!
Yep, he’s going to have to take a lot more PED to get to where he’d be a good addition. Arsenal were in for him 4 years ago and considered it a bullet dodged after what he showed for Chelsea.
Gakpo is not really the type of winger we need… and thus for a very good fee I’d be more than happy to move him on if that helps us afford Barcola.
I don’t think though that if we acquired Barcola that we would need another winger.
I would be more than satisfied with:
Barcola, Munoz (who seems a littlenwritten off already), Rio, Chiesa and one of Koumas / Elliott / Other with cup games for Abe.
Koumas did well as a rotational option for Hull and I think he is ready to play a backup role for us - especially with his really good pressing characteristics which fits Iraola teams well.
Tomori would be a good signing cheap and experienced. We still need a right winger a DM and possibly a RB.
Gakpo is a better player then he showed last season but a good enough fee and I’d consider it but only if we bring in Barcola and another forward. Not just Barcola.
Especially as it looks like Chiesa and Koumas might be being considered as the Isak rotation and Elliot would work better backing up Wirtz.
2 wise posters on here then, who would have thought!
Mudryk was said in jest, but theres a reason arsenal wanted him and Chelsea paid a huge fee for him,
I saw him play for kiev and Ukraine a few times, looked fast direct and a real threat
Also would be the first player to flop at chelsea
Indeed, and the reason is idiocy.
To be honest, Hull fans didn´t rate Koumas at all.
Although I think they played him a bit wider than suits him.
how come we didnt go for antonio silva? 20+M to Bournemouth
The only reasons I can think of are he´s 22 so we don´t see him as that stop gap between Van Dijk and the two young cbs, and also he´s not homegrown.
From what I have seen he´s good enough to be a started for us right now though.
@Liverdinner is JJ that much better than Silva for such a difference in valuation?
Jacquet?
From what I have seen, I prefer Silva, but I have seen more of Silva. I am very curious about Jacquet. It´s a huge fee so we must be so confident. Very intriguing.
We’ve been looking at him for about 3 years, and not only did we not go for him none of the other big clubs who had reportedly been watching him in that time did either. That he ended up going to Bournemouth on a meager fee suggests an obvious answer is that despite his promise no one is convinced that he really has it
If there is anything in the Gakpo to Spurs whispers, I’m sure we will buy another winger, in addition to Barcola (hopefully that completes soon).
I could see a world where we ended up with Barcola, Ngumoha, Minteh and Munoz as the four options for the wings.
As Iraola says, all wingers have their preferred side, but he is looking for some versatility too, and I expect that to be a feature among the group, especially as his coaching kicks in, so we aren’t piling up left-wing-only specialists.
My problem with that is Bournemouth’s canny habit of proving everyone wrong and end up reselling him at a very tidy profit.
I don’t like the idea of selling him to one of our premier league rivals as he will come back to haunt us. Italy is the best destination for him or even better to a German top club.
All things being equal I would agree with that.
If Spurs will hypothetically give us 70M for Gakpo, and say Bayern Munich or someone in Europe would do the same, I would not sell to Spurs.
If there are no takers in the same ballpark as Spurs, then I would do business with them for Gakpo in order to further our own aims. They have been splashing the cash and will presumably be looking to qualify for Europe, but at this stage I would not consider them a rival.
Even if we loosely said they were a rival, if we were willing to sell Gakpo in order to upgrade our own options, presumably we will feel as though we were doing better out of the deal.
Going make the point that it doesn’t mean a player will go if a team is in for them
