Not sure if the source here has any credibility or not, but Macca moving on has been discussed as a possibility. I think the consensus is that he is a very good player, but he hasn’t shown his best for Liverpool for a while. After that the argument diverges. He’s either fine, and the context is that everyone looked bad last season under Slot. Or he is expendable, so long as it is for good money that is reinvested back into the team.
I think I am of the latter persuasion, assuming Iraola is going with a 4231. We need to find a better balance with another player. Probably someone who covers the space a bit better. That’s not to say I would be unhappy if we kept him, as he is a smashing player and I will be hoping he will show his best form if he stays.

Still, if Trent is available, we should take him back. He is better than any other RB prospects floated in this thread over the past 5-6 months, and those few who may be better are absolutely not available.

I don’t mind Gakpo. He had a poor-ish season last season but still did OK.
He needed to be rested but couldn’t be due to lack of personell.
I definitely wouldn’t sell him. He looked sharp in the World Cup as well

Cody is mainly a one trick pony, but until last season it was a bloody good and effective trick.
He was a clean striker of the ball, which again was something that evaded him last season.
So hopefully we see the old Cody back with Andoni bringing the best out of him.

I would sell him now and make him sit on the bench for the next two years if need be or if he refuses to go to the club we want to sell him to, I’m sick and tired of RM shenanigans.

Have to say, I think it´s rare to get both together. I think players tend to have specialist stengths and you don´t often get some passing wizard who is also a monster at winning the ball back of getting stuck in. Probably what made Gerrard so unique.
Yeah Scott seems highly rated. For me he dribbles too much and doesn´t have the passing game but he is fairly technical and also physical. Guimares maybe.

If Gakpo needed to be rested we could have played Rio a bit more. So imo this notion that Gakpo was knackered which was detrimental to his performance’s is nonsense.
He can be a useful player unfortunately under Slot he pretty much underperformed as did many others.

We are really glutton for punishment keep away from them we’ll never get him. We should concentrate on getting players who genuinely want to come to Liverpool or from a club who is not a rival.
