What a player Sturridge was, when he was fit.
Had everything. Quick, could shoot and dribble with both feet, delivered in the big moments, clever. Seems a good bloke too. Real shame he didnāt quite have the career I think he deserved.

One of the more tragic examples I can think of of injuries wrecking a playerās career. Had he had the same resilience as Mo heād have probably gone down as one of our best ever strikers.

I still sometimes watch compilations of his goals. He was incredible. He absolutely had it all. Except a body that didnāt keep letting him down.

All i remember of sturridge was he was joe gomez before joe ā¦the most tragic injury to me in the last 30 plus years was the one that happened to fowlerā¦it allowed owen to burse onto the scene, but fowler was never the same .

All the reports Iāve read say itās Ā£130m in Jan, but then it comes down in summer.
Sturridge certainly didnāt have it all, but yeah it felt like he was never 100% fit even when he was fit on paper and in his best form. Certain things were simply never his strength. And we had to use him in certain ways, knowing that. He was pure spontaneity. In terms of ball manipulation in tight spaces, heās arguably the best (cleanest?) or one of the best of Liverpool strikers in my following. I always give him that and thatās among a high quality company. And some of his finishes were top quality. My favourite ones off the top of my head being his outside the box chip against WBA at home and that goal against Sevilla.

You donāt see many dinked or chipped angled finishes from the edge of the box,any more it all seems to be based on power, Kenny was a genius at them.

Kenny gave an interview once when he revealed Terry McDermot taught him how to do that. He was genius at that lob/shot dipper.

Just posting what was said.
Actually some interesting other bits in the piece.
- Camara of interest but so is Kone. Only going to buy a midfielder if someone else leaves
- Ward highly rated but not sure he wants to go back to DoF role. Coveted by other clubs
- Woodfine seen as more of an assistant rather than DoF
- Donāt rule out an external DoF appointment
I know it sounds obvious but him and Olise are the absolute bluprint of what I hope we get from our next RW signing.
Wingers who are quick (ish) and can beat players both left and right, but also play with their heads up and can pass into the box and open teams up with that too.
Salah was like this too of course.
