Yeah, that’s why I said directly, because a free agent we don’t have to negotiate with the club.
I think the combination of Cody any Munoz (especially Cody) is more than adequate on the right side for now. Don’t think we need to go to the market in the January transfer window with inflated prices (well inflated even more than usual).
The alternative is that the winter window is a very attractive window in which to do business if you are well set and dont NEED to do anything.
- The team who were holding out for a big fee in the summer that didnt come and are now being a bit more realistic
- The team whose season has been massively under expectations, need to retool for next season and want the security of money in the bank to help them plan for that
- The guy emerging who might have a lot more interest for him in the summer
Just like we did with Diaz and Cody himself, there is hopefully a good opportunity to do something productive in the winter
We also have Szoboszlai who is very good there too. So perhaps the concentration should be on finding a midfielder?
Particularly considering we have other options for the wings.
I had the same thought that he would be a good addition but I was a little surprised to see a lot of Palace fans were actually pretty happy to move him on and thought getting 20m for him was a good price. They seem very happy with the young lad they replaced him with.
Hey, hey @Thomas1195 your wish could be coming true. Then again, it is Teamtalk so don’t build your hopes up.
Liverpool are considering a move to bring 23-year-old English midfielder Tyler Morton back to the club from Lyon, with Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brighton also keeping tabs on him. (Teamtalk)
“Future is in doubt”? Really? Only if he actually wants the move.
Juventus could be set to reignite their interest in Brazil goalkeeper Alisson, 33, whose future at Liverpool is in doubt. (Football Italia)
They probably just re-posted something they posted last year.
Do wonder how long it would be , before its asked “we should sell him”…if he came back…and then it’ll be we should never had let elliott go…
It was stupid to ever let Morton leave. Wonder if that was Hughes vs the rest? Newcastle also made enquiries in summer too.
He really didn’t look that good and there is no one on here who kicked up a fuss when he left. We should know about players adapting and learning and delivering after spells of meh.
Personally wished him the best. And I’m still not sure I’d bring him back.
Why blame Hughes, Slot never used him and we got good money for a player not involved.
anyone over at city worth having a crack at?
i jest…kinda…
Cherki. Cherki, Cherki cheap, cheap.
was thinking Haaland as a back up striker?
How about from their current academy or those who have graduated from the academy and are knocking about their first team?
Buying Llorente would stop him scoring against us, and his dog is called Anfield. So there is that …
Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in Spain midfielder Marcos Llorente, 31, who is yet to decide his future with Atletico Madrid . (TeamTalk)
Also …
The same three Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on Inter Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni, 27, who is also attracting interest from Barcelona. (TeamTalk), external
Brentford are in discussions with their winger Kevin Schade about a new long-term contract amid increasing interest in the Germany international from clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool. (Sky Sports), external
Liverpool are giving serious consideration to making 27-year-old Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo’s loan switch from Barcelona a permanent one. (Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish)
Juventus have been offered the chance to sign Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell, 27, amid other interest from Liverpool and Manchester United in the Englishman. (Tuttosport - in Italian)
Anderson, obviously.
Started that convo just now in the sporting director thread.
Now no pressure Julian , I know you are reading this.
Bastoni is a no go for us. He’s under investigation for soliciting sex from a minor.
It would have been a no brainer otherwise. But the no dickhead rule applies to us
Hang on, he could be not guilty. But yes, we would have to wait until he had been cleared. Probably better to avoid though yes.
One of the world´s best CBs. Shame.
