Rumors were that Felipe Luis was furious at the prospect of losing Camara and Monaco decided to renege knowing that they were planning to sell Balogun to Everton anyway. Selling at least one of the two of them was seen as necessary to balance their books.
Well, now Balogun to the Toffees is off. Assuming Chelsea didnât get a deal sheet in for Camara, it sounds like both are staying at Monaco at least until the winter window.

Monaco shot themselves in the foot, but at the expense of Chelsea and Everton, who lost their top players and failed to replace themâŚall on deadline day. Whatâs not to love.

Monaco must be hoping to sell Balogun to Turkey or Saudi then, otherwise that seems like a massive failing on their part as well in terms of a potential FFP breach.
Still, seems odd we wouldnât just get him now if we were that keen.

Canât see why the deal would collapse because we said we âmaybeâ back next summer - surely it would have had to have been something more committal?
If it is true, I wonder if this is because Chelsea have been interfering behind the scenes in our targets (for example I did wonder yesterday after @Limiescouse 's comments about the loan deal with Palace whether Chelsea are influencing who Palaceâs transfers beyond deals between themselves)
If we do go back, I wonder if the price will still be around the ÂŁ50m mark or a much higher âliverpool taxâ will be added

From the TalkSport video. Monaco wanted 70m and were only dropping to 55m for Chelsea as they needed to make a deal. So if we do go back in 2027 then it will be from at least a 70m asking price.

Camara isnât a DM, heâs an 8 a bit like Kante. Covers lots of ground, presses like a demon, backs up the play. Decent at controlling tempo as he is a good progressive passer but able to circulate the ball as well. He would work as the deeper midfielder in an Iraola pivot.
We were heavily linked with him and Sangare, who went to Brentford, loads around the turn of the year and David Lynch seemed to think a deal was there to be done if Liverpool wanted to do it based, presumably, prior groundwork.
