The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 6)

If I was him I would go to either Brentford or Bournemouth on loan.

Surprising that there are that many players sold for over 60m then!

60m is the new 5m. It’s unsustainable. Blame abromovitch and Cheaty.

Ooh yeah.

He was at Betis. Good player. Good instincts and positioning, quite physically capable and a steady passer. I think he“d be a good pickup.

And a correct step away from all rounders. He“d sit in there and do the DM role.

Had a good game when i watched the other but wasn“t impressed when i have seen him this season.

Palace are one of the worst sides I“ve seen and he wasn“t doing enough to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

German commentator just linked us with VuÅ”ković. Not sure what his source is.

For that price, seems too good to be true.

With how bitter Bayern have clearly been over us signed Wirtz. I’m all for annoying them some more.

I think he’s a smashing player and I would be up for this. Even looking toward a future without Van Dijk or Joe Gomez, adding the likes of Vuskovic starts to make us look very well stocked in central defence:

Jacquet (he has settled so well, looks the part)
Araujo (surely we make this permanent)
Leoni (I’m looking forward to seeing him play again, hopefully soon)
Vuskovic (talented and robust young defender)

Then behind this quartet we would have Ndukwe and Ndiaye trying to get into the conversation for some minutes.

Arguably the age balance with this group might be a bit young, but I could see Araujo as the older head, and Jacquet as a mainstay. I will feel better about this group if Leoni comes back strong this season and looks the part.

He’s not yet 20,hasn’t played a full game for us as well as being out for over a year with a serious injury.Hopefully he has a stellar career ahead of him with us but babysteps might be needed with this lad. If Virgil and Joe both go next summer we’ll still need Araujo and another before relying on Leoni.I think he takes 4th spot for a while.

Completely agree. Baby steps. Hopefully we see Leoni take some of those soon, and get some minutes here and there.

I wonder how long it will be before someone nabs Evanilson. Very good finishing merchant and been good with assists so far this season iirc.

We should have got him this summer.

There’s a good case for that, at half the price of what he will end up costing, too.

Mind you, the counter argument is whether or not he would have played here at this moment in time, so his star would probably not be shining as brightly right now from our bench.

Anyway, he’s a good player.

If Araujo ends up more as CB next season ( if we do the deal ) I’d be watching how the young RB at porto progresses, Fernandes. Seems to be making the RB spot his own so far this season. Perhaps not for this summer but if he keeps progressing.

In a transfer window in which we (eventually) got Jacquet and had other needs, some of which went right until the end of the window and some which obviously didn’t happen (another winger in and Gakpo out), also not knowing how far we could’ve gone in terms of net spend, with also some of our other players in doubt (like Leoni), I can’t say we should’ve also brought in Vuskovic.

Also, one of the reasons why he went to Brighton (coupled with them currently and recently being better than Tottenham and this season playing in Europe) was possibly also because there was a clear starting place on the table. I’m not sure whether getting two players of the profiles of Jacquet and Vuskovic, for the total price they would cost, with our other needs, would’ve been smart.

Van Hecke went the other way so you are probably spot on, he saw guaranteed first team football and if we’d have gone in for him price goes up i guess

He doesn’t score enough goals, but the rest of his game is top notch, have been impressed with a lot but his goal scoring rate.

A better version of Koumas

He seems to score a lot of poacher type goals. Might get more in a more dominant side.. Perhaps not for us but i wouldn’t say no if he was cheap!

Honestly, strikers are last on my mind currently with the two main ones we have and before we even saw the situation that both Ekitike and Isak are at least in normal fitness and form. Let’s see how that develops, hopefully we get a few answers this season. Of course, club people should always monitor the market regardless of positions.
