I understand that strikers aren’t a priority. If we were to lose Chiesa, koumas doesn’t hit the heights and Danns never gets going then there might be a spot for someone like Evanilson.. but i’d prefer an orthodox right back and a defensive mid.
He might be terrific but I have had enough Diouf’s for one footballing lifetime!
Was just a matter of time before we got linked with new LB’s (or left sided defenders) and I feel that’s not only because of Tsimikas almost surely leaving on a free next summer…
Diouf has struggled to get playing time at Brentford and when he did start in their cup game he received a lot of criticism for his performance.
It might be a bit…
doesn’t get game time - Not match sharp
Gets 1 game - This is terrible. This is why he doesn’t get game time.
Goes back to not getting minutes - He doesn’t try hard enough. His hearts not in it.
The team has a few losses - Oh it’s because we aren’t playing X
- gets a game - not match sharp - etc etc
The life of a footballer and the fan narrative at times. Not about you btw!
edit: to explain.. the fan narrative or journalism is the bit on the right after the -
And PSG
and saudi.
Well, thankfully they didn’t get the chance to further fuck up the prices because the PL recognised they couldn’t let another Chelsea/City run amok.
I was referring to the actual saudi league.
Thought I had time travelled for a minute.
In a way they may have helped out, a useful market to sell players who otherwise might have had to go on the cheap.
crazy wages. crazy fees for some over the hill or not quite good enough at the highest level players.
We have done good deals for us, aye
I wonder what happened to the Chinese league…for a time they were investing heavily
They had a government issues on spending money that was going to business not in china i think. They put a restriction on number of foreign players too i think
I think it is clear that if you want a full back from Brentford you are looking at Kayode or Lewis-Potter.
Right now the links to Diouf just seem to be rehashed from the summer when we were loosely linked.
Personal preference would be to go back in for Schlotterbeck. Left footed, will be 27 and right into his prime years. Not sure how steep the fee would be after a year, and coming back from injury, but have always thought he was solid whenever I’ve seen him.
I think he has a buyout clause that comes into play next summer around 50m

Leeds United could sign Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, 23, on a permanent deal in January as Valencia prepare to terminate the Englishman’s loan spell. (Football Insider)
I hope that happens for Harvey. Could be an excellent move for him if he has spent his time in Valencia wisely getting as fit as he can.
I hope he is not the spitting image of our old loathsome Diouf.
