Crazy how far Harvey has fallen. We must never allow what we gave Aston Villa to happen again and he must be used as an example to any players in future who want to dictate a move that risks their development.
The fucker that did that has left our club…
What does that even mean? There’s us, the buying club, the player and his entourage. All parties try to do what’s best for them and potentially come to an agreement. And sometimes, shit happens. What happened rarely happens. I have nothing against us in that deal, but there is also not only single party or person guilty for what happened there. It was indeed more from Villa’s side (and their internal factors) and the player’s side and his entourage. They had a whole summer to find a solution. And especially after the great Harvey Elliott was Euro U21’s player of the tournament, though already aged 22 and being an established senior player, in a tournament in which he really should’ve confirmed a certain difference in level.
I don’t know what else we could’ve or should’ve done. He can also ask himself certain questions and has his entourage who are paid to go into the smallest details to secure a best possible move. Plus the little mess at Villa over his case. Not us.
He rejected moves to Germany if I remember. He could have flourished there.
Hopefully he can rebuild if he heads to Leeds.
I’m less sure it’s the right move for Harvey, as low on confidence and fitness as he is. Just look at Harry Wilson, coming off the back off a couple of very productive seasons at Fulham, can’t get a game under Farke. I doubt Harvey will find it any easier, more likely infinitely harder.
Are they paying for him?
I am not sure if you are suggesting yorkshire business could be tight with money or if he’s possible loan deal
Only temporarily and sounds like he’ll be back in the new year if Valencia have their way.
Good luck to Harvey Elliott. Good player, broke through here, got somewhat established but not quite fully, we had a manager change, he lost his way, then a bad move to Villa compounded his issues. On the one hand you can say that letting himself get unfit and a bit overweight was unprofessional, but on the other hand, it is a reminder that we’re all human.
I’m really rooting for him and hoping that he bounces back strongly.
I’m sure we’re far from the only ones weighing up a move for Verbruggen. Real Madrid are said to also be interested.
As for Rio and Bayern, maybe our DoF should have a word with Rio’s camp.
