Thing is, the club and/or those who we consider being close to it, have been fairly clear on the club’s position. It hasnt really changed since the start of the window. All the fuss has been driven by ITKs or Bayern.
Going right out on a limb there, mate!
Which is ironic as we’re the ones in a super position.
At least the Fekir saga was interesting. This one is as dull as dishwater.
Something tells me that you may have gone too early…
This is probably just warming up.
Missus tells me that all the time…
We know…
If I’d known you were all watching I’d have at least worn my birthday suit.
She only cares about whether Thiago’s coming…
[And like that, we’re back on topic… ]
I’ll go and ask.
But given that he’s a fit, tanned, Spanish millionaire you might be onto something.

Pearce was on about Thiago being “free” in January but that approach makes little sense given the players age. I happen to be in lockstep with @Kopstar why it makes it little sense to go that route with Thiago. It’s either this summer or not at all.
And as an aside, I don’t think many people understand what “free to sign a pre contract agreement in January” actually means. I keep seeing a portion of supporters saying wait and bring him in for free January. Thiago doesn’t actually come to LFC in January. He comes next season.
Indeed. Although IF he was still at Bayern in Jan, it’s likely he’d be available to bring in then for a substantially lower fee.
Yep, and iirc there’s no longer any bar to him playing in the CL at that point even if Bayern still remain in the competition…might have to double check that though!
Double checked. He’d be able to play for us in the knock out stages subject only to restrictions on the number of players registered.
IT’S ON!!!
Hope you got your Intel right, TAN is an unforgiving bunch.
It might make sense if Gini is not going to sign a new contract meaning we still have him for this season, also meant that we are not in desperate need for Thiago. So next summer, swap a 30 year old for another one and with no net spend. That might be the rationale.
I think that will be our stance if Munich stands firm on the price but I believe there is a price that we have in mind to buy him this summer if Munich is willing to.
As I said, Thiago is a great great player but we have a championship winning team intact at least for a season more, Thiago is not a must have this season.
There would be a net spend though. A free transfer isn’t ‘free’. The player’s camp simply gets to pocket a big chunk of what would have been paid as a fee to his former club (we paid somewhere between £8 and 12m to Milner for example.
Lot of Facebook chatter saying hes staying in a Liverpool hotel haha. I just want this transfer done now.
