Thiago will undergo medical today, after #LFC agreed a deal worth around Ā£26m with Bayern. He has accepted terms on a 4 year contract - fee is Ā£20m down, with Ā£5-6m depending on add-ons. Will wear no 6. Player could make his debutā¦in the EFL Cup at Lincoln next Thursday!!!

My thoughts tactically have been the same since start of July;
Looking yesterday after the changes its a bit more like the midfield I was thinking we could gravitate to if we do bring in Thiago. Wijnaldum seemed a lot more deeper and reserved than Keita/Jones. It was almost like a double pivot with Henderson with a CAM in front. Maybe I was just seeing what I wanted to see but didnāt seem as much difference between the 6 and the ādefensiveā 8 as usual and the āoffensiveā 8 seemed more free than usual. A double pivot CM with Thiago (playmaker option), Fabinho (defensive option), Keita (offensive option), Henderson and Wijnaldum (tactically balanced options) seems real promising. Milner as emergency cover, Fabinho also as a CB option, Keita also in contention for the CAM position with Jones and Ox. Can see it making sense and more like what Klopp had at Dortmund more I think of it. Attack would be free to set up in 433, 4231 or 4222 as well with that midfield base.

I doubt we would even see him that soon, could be a few more game weeks. Then again, maybe he is a Van Dijk type of player. Plug in and go, in which case, Lincoln would be a excellent lithmus test.
