I said that on the 4th of July when most people were still in the ‘we don’t sign 29yo’ stage of denial. We’ve moved on as a team, alot of people just didn’t think we would make this kind of move.

I think we’ll see different midfield combinations depending on tactics/opponent/availability/form/resting players and sometimes he’ll be in the 6 position, sometimes he’ll be played with Fabinho e.g. Fab-Thiago-Hendo midfield 3.

I see him mostly as a LCM. Can play the 6 role, but as a single pivot for our style, it’s not his best role.

Thiago deal comes with a clause that prohibits Liverpool from bidding for any Bayern player till next summer.

Very exciting to have a player of his quality come in. Maybe we will see more than just the token 4-2-3-1 experiment Klopp tries at beginning of each year?
Genuinely looking forward to finding out how Klopp will use him. Watching Bayern, he sat deep a lot of the time, but seems to have all the tools in his locker.

I think it’s horses for courses route. He gives us another option against the teams which lie back and make it difficult for the service from the wingbacks.
I’d still start with Fabinho/Hendo/Keita against the teams attacking us.
The overall talent across the entire Prem this year is unbelievable.

I think we’ll still see us use Fabinho/Hendo as a 6 in a lot of games even when we attack. Thiago acts in a way that he can come deep for the build-up and then also join a little bit. In a double pivot midfield though, he does bring serious and proven quality. Alongside Fabinho/Hendo. Out of all of our other CM’s who can do that (Gini, Keita), Thiago is the best equipped. Both in terms of discipline and on the ball quality.
