Sad news for him, but for Liverpool that is great news. That means only 5-6 players I think playing internationals - and hopefully the Olympics get canned - the covid situation in Japan is looking very bleak and many Japanese locals think they shouldn’t be going ahead meaning we don’t lose Mo or Minamino in September

Sad for Trent, because as a footballer he wants to represent his country.
Glad for us, because hopefully he now gets some rest and recovery in before the new season. And if TAA is feeling a little down over this, a packed Anfield, singing his name, and recognizing the world class player that he is - rather than be doubted by a toothy dope in Southgate - will lift his spirits.

You can’t really blame Southgate. 2 of the 4 right backs played in the C/L final, whilst 1 was playing left back as the 2 left backs had both played in the C/L or E/L finals, so were given time off leaving Trent as the only player available to ply right back.
Or is he expected to play players out of position just so he can take Trent off early?

Still will be lucky to be back fully fit for pre season. Will only be rehabbing nevermind fully fit. His fitness could be down the drain . Hopefully I’m wrong

With the season just 10 weeks away, this is a terrible news. The reported six weeks is in no way definitive. It wont be until he starts rehabilitation that we will get some idea about the possible date for return.
For the moment all there’s to do, is pray and hope.
