Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2020/21

Thing is, no England player has performed consistently for England - we’re always shite!

Because you are not Sanata with the definitive naughty and nice list. But go ahead, question my motivation again. Tiresome nonsense.

You’re opinion on this is at odds with Klopp and every journalist I’ve seen comment on the situation. But yeah, just make it out that it’s my opinion versus yours and I’m being ridiculous.

Who fucking cares?

If it affects how effectively Trent follows Klopps instructions? We all should that shit could cost us points if he’s not as disciplined as he has been (which has helped us out far more than some realise) and starts chasing highlight real actions to make the England team. It could literally be the difference between 4th and 5th which could cost us over £50m for one thing.

I didn’t mock you for your opinion on Trent’s performance. I did for the ridiculous suggestion that Southgate hasn’t bothered to actually watch the relevant games before making his selection (for a relatively meaningless series of games not the tournament itself).

I really, really, really, fucking doubt that.

So Southgate actually has spoken Trent and effectively told Trent what he wants to see from him if he wants to make the Euros. 100% guarantee it’ll be at odds with what Trent has been getting directed to do by Klopp.

“It’s a remarkable position of strength and what I said to Trent earlier today was I have made the same call to Kyle Walker and Kieran in the past.

"Their response was a good one. They took up the challenge and found themselves back in the squad. Trent is a super talent and I’m certain will play a big part in the future. He misses out this time but we could quite conceivably be sitting here in the summer and he’s with us.”

No, England is backwards. This is the set up that played Scholes as a wide midfielder to cram Stevie G and Lampard into central midfield.

Southgate will be terrified he doesn’t know how to use Trent, similar why Grealish won’t get a chance. Southgate is a typical English 442 type manager, with small variations, but he likes his defenders to defend etc. The only time he’s really given Trent license to attack is the 3421 he played with Trent as wing back.

Come on, is there the need for another crusade defending a point I don’t even get…

Southgate is a fucking moron, he couldn’t tell if Trent was doing well by viewing or by looking at stats… Any manager taking Kyle Walker ahead of Trent or AWB is an idiot.

I highly doubt Trent is that upset, he might be if he missed the Euros but thats not happened.

Southgate is an irrelevance to the modern game and modern tactics…
Got the job, not because he was a crap club manager, which he was by the way… but because with his dorky waistcoat and serious demeanour from his sense of humour/personality by-pass, he offered an image more in keeping with the stuffed shirts at FA headquarters.
His appointment at the time was an attempt to quickly erase the ‘Fuck-Up’ they had made in appointing old Hippopotamus Head and his beer swilling, meat and potato pie guzzling touchline antics that dovetailed so well with his yard-dog tactics he tried to instil into players…!
Who cares what opinions Southgate has on our players!
With Trent… all we have to remember is that Steve Hunter phrase
“… Corner Taken Quickly… ORIGIIII…”

I think it’s very possible that Southgate made the decision before the last or the last few games. He did say that Trent improved in his last few outings. I still don’t think his Euro chances are in the water. It will be a combination of quality, style, experience, form, mixture with other players in that position.

[Here’s a link] for anyone like me who has no idea what “expected threat” is.

tl;dr Trent has been our most effective player at moving the ball from less- to more-threatening locations on the pitch (based on where we create/score goals).

There’s rumours Gareth is planning on not taking Grealish, Trent and Sancho this summer. Guys a dinosaur who would be badly exposed at club level. 3 of the most technical England players. If a manager can’t find roles for those 3 there’s something wrong.

He deserves absolutely everything that is coming to him.
