Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2021/22

Thing is, we have time to prep for that game, so if Milner does play at RB Klopp will have a plan as to how best support him against City"s attack. Having played them already we will have more information to use in that planning.

According to Paul Joyce in The Times he is hoping to be back for the City game.

Have to be a pretty bad one to miss Man City to be honest, if we go with Gomez or Milner they should be able to the job in the next two

Well, let’s just call it a convenient time for a 2-3 weeks break. Maybe he even sits out the first leg against Benfica, to make it less obvious :eyes:

Nah, you don’t want to throw someone straight back into the team for Shitty.

Maybe give him 20-25 minutes in the Benfica game to ‘ease’ him back in

If we have tactically withdrawn him that’s good, if he said days he would have still gone, weeks gives us that space.

Between Gomez and Milner they should be able to do the job until he returns, Bradley is a kid and that position is targeted almost every game.

Eek, I hope this is one of those ‘injuries’ that pop up just before international break and miraculously heal before the first game after the break that Klopp often let’s us know about and not a real injury. I was just about to post in the FA Cup thread how Trent would be the only one I’d 100% rest for that game as we have no decent cover for him.

Me thinks RB cover absolutely must be the priority in the summer.

If it’s a pull then it should be ok, low grade tear possibly. A think a tear would have been spotted mind.

How fortunate it is that the international break is coming up. What timing, eh?

3 weeks to return for the Man City game.

That’s pushing it in my opinion. Hamstring is usually 4-6 weeks aint it?

Depends on the grade and what’s happened.

Bart is in fourth grade and it’s always bad stuff.

The lads been 10 for about 30 years…

Now if only we can get some of that for our players.

James Pearce seems to be suggesting the treatment and response has been good to the injury and we are cautiously optimistic he will play the majority of April.

Probably means Man City league onwards, if not that you’d assume from the Benfica second leg however as that’s midway through April I’m going be cautiously optimistic it’s The Man City league game.

He had some issues with his hamstring earlier in the season. We’re now approaching the mad rush to the end of the season with everything on the line with a meaningless international break separating us from now and that beginning of that rush. The cynical person in me says these sorts of “injuries” are exactly what I’d have expected from several of our important players for whom physical preparation for that run in is more important than a couple of friendlies. This means that a “recovery” that is at worst in time for a late run out in the first leg against benfica and a start against City is also exactly what I’d expect

He’s spent the international break in Dubai. I think this is more about getting some rest preparing for the run-in rather than any kind of serious injury issue. If so it’s a smart move. We have players who can do a job at RB but no one can replicate what Trent offers.

Yep, if it was a proper injury it is very unlikely he would NOT be going into Kirkby every day.

What’s the chances that Klopp had engineered this injury just to rest Trent up and stick 2 fingers up.

It’s not like England or Southgate really appreciate what he offers anyway. Fucking laughable really

Rest up Trent
