Take your hands out of your pockets when you speak to the lads, Trent.

I think as his career progresses, his flaws are becoming more obvious even if it was noticeable already much earlier. For me, it’s the stamina and focus he lacks as the match progresses. As a full back that plays the way Klopp does, it’s fatal (and that is why Robbo is so important). I think that’s also part of the consideration why he is now playing this hybrid thing, simply he just can’t last the whole match running up and down the flanks. Hybrid keeps him in the team and not losing his fantastic traits and passing ranges. However, for me the reason why then not move him to a full time midfield role, to me that’s also because another fatal trait is that he seems too casual at times. Our CM has always one trait throughout all of them, tenacity and the ability to keep running. Taking say any of Jones, Mac or Dom out, we are going to lose that in the midfield.

I think any manager coming in will have his work cut out to find a combination that works with TAA in it because it’s all about finding a balance.

TAA has been in Klopp’s style of physical conditioning for so many years and I find it hard to believe that TAA doesn’t have the stamina to keep with the pace of the game. He’s also just 25 years old only which is supposed to be reaching the peak of his physical powers. He also doesn’t look overweight as well.

As what you mentioned, the mentality of this particular player in the game. This is by far the biggest problem that is plaguing TAA now. I remembered when TAA first burst onto the scene, he was surging down the right side, providing pin-point crosses, diagonals and good set-pieces and who can forget him winning the tackle against Jordi Alba, surged down the right wing and provided that assist to Gini for kickstart the comeback against Barca .

After a few years later after winning the CL and PL, his defensive problems started to surface in the most horrible ways possible. Getting skinned near the half-way line is fine, but not busting a gut to get back or not busting a gut to cover an opposing runner is what pisses off so many people.

I hope the club sort out his contract first, though, he’s a local lad, vice captain and quite likely the next captain of the club but, to be honest, I’ve long had the impression that he doesn’t want to play the right back anymore. Until two seasons ago, you really had to do well to go past him one-on-one - these days, the likes of Martinelli are treating him like a traffic cone when they manage to isolate him.

I think that one of the first things the new manager will do is move him to the centre of the pitch and alternate between Gomez and Bradley at right back. I’m actually convinced of it (provided the new guy is someone who will heavily rely on academy like Klopp - which will surely be one of the main criteria for his appointment). At the very basis of it, it opens up the pitch for Trent’s creativity and reduces the chance of opposition wingers isolating him on the flank.

From the midfield abomination of last season, we might enter the next season with Mac Allister, Trent, Szoboszlai, Jones, Endo, Gravenberch and Elliott as senior and “senior” options. I’ll take that, especially as it will somewhat take the burden off Gravenberch, whose current form has nosedived.

just a snippet at the end, Gravenberch hasn’t even found his form yet. needs some regular minutes as a 21yo.

Could not find it at Bayern either, it should tell him something…

neither could Salah at Chelsea. sometimes you just need patience

He had the same with Ajax, he began well but went missing during games. So we are his third club and he is still doing that. IMO he and Gakop are squad fillers for not-so-important matches. The moment those two have to start against teams like Arsenal we are in trouble.

Patience…you and I both know they’re not the first starting XI

Out of the cup final according to Joyce.

Fuck sake

He is someone who didn’t have many injuries till now

Yeah, not good.

Didn’t look 100% since his return, still had that procetion around his knee.

When Trent went off relatively early against Arsenal, we never looked like creating a chance again. Obviously not the only reason, but very important for how we play.

Hopefully Gomez and Bradley can do a good job while he’s out, I expect both to get games at RB.

He’s still not had many injuries…

One knee strain, that’s been aggravated.

Lets not get all worked up about this and make out that Trent’s injury prone.
