We are not a crowd that boos players. The fact that this is so singular is what makes it notable.
The fact that Trent got a hostile reception is because there were people bitterly disappointed by how he had gone about this, and the fact that these are not people prone to being hostile over a drop of a hat should give you a clue as to why it matters.
I’m sorry lads. I like and respect you all. But the idea that Madrid and Trent merely took advantage of a fortuitous contract situation is really quite naive.
Of course Trent and Madrid have worked this out. Madrid have a long track record of doing this.
We’ll see in the summer, but I suspect they are playing this game with Konate as well.

The idea that Real Madrid and Alexander-Arnold is really quite naïvely conspiratorial.
It genuinely works in his favour no matter what to use the leverage of his contract situation to get the best of both worlds. It genuinely works in Real Madrid’s favour to attempt to sign a player whose contract is running down. It doesn’t mean that they had any “collusion”.
The only reason why you don’t see our club do this more, I suspect, is simply because we don’t shop in that type of market. There’s a reason why Endō had thought his opportunity to play for us had passed many years ago. We don’t, as a general rule, sign players who are the finished article. The wages and signing fees seem to rule such deals out from a financial perspective.
I haven’t visited this thread for a while because I didn’t want to hear any more justifications for the booing.

Even though I try to view things from a neutral perspective, I find this hyper-moralistic approach of some people truly disgusting. Calling someone scum just because they have a different perspective on things is the lowest of the low.
