The other side to that social contract has quite eloquently put forward a few posts up. I imagine you ignored it in your high tower as it’s beneath you?
When do we close this thread?
The sooner the better, although having said that the conversation will probably just move to his 2024/25 player thread.
And its bollocks like this which boils my piss. The notion that match goers opinion holds more credibility than those who don’t. The club makes shit loads of brass from its none match going fan base.
Thought no player is bigger than the club?
Whatever Trent has done it’s no reason to bully him in front of the word. No reason to treat him like a criminal. No reason to threaten his family.
Definitely no reason to do all this while we should focus on celebrating the league title.
It is literally not the biggest thing in football., far less the world. Players are not demigods to be worshipped and Trent made a choice to run down his contract. Obviously some would boo him. But so what ? It’s a small segment showing their displeasure, but to call them scum is beyond silly. Many of them may otherwise be kind people, but hurt by how this was played out. Booing is then the reaction that football fans tends to give, some of them anyway.
20 years. 27 goals. 96 assists. 9 trophies which wouldn’t be possible without him.
Also, Trent is doing lots of charity and donations which won’t stop when he leaves.
What does he get back from our great supporters?
Sends a great message to the next local elite talent coming through the academy.
I think screwing the club that gave you everything by conspiring to leave on a free to a rival is spitting on everything ‘you’ll never walk alone’ stands for as well.
People don’t agree with each other on this, and that’s OK. Both viewpoints are valid.
Hopefully we can just move now and just forget about Trent.
You mean honouring his contract.

Hopefully the Arsenal game was a one off. A reaction to the news by disappointed fans taking their opportunity to show him how disappointed they were which they are entitled to do. Let’s hope that it doesn’t continue tomorrow and on Monday
(Mind you having said that, I don’t think he is getting anywhere near the squad and I think he’ll keep a low profile during the celebrations)
Glad Jürgen already called bullshit on the ‘leaving on a free’ thing.
But some people will never stop sounding like Trent has stolen money from them ![]()
In the meantime the owners don’t give a shit and prepare signing a kid for £120m
I think he’s starting the match.
So you mean he honoured his contract and left on a free like he was fully entitled too.
Personally I was very happy to hear Klopp describe it exactly the way I feel about it.
I hope it changes things for the better, because it’s sad to see.
Tomorrow we lift number 20.
Let’s turn everything red and keep on building to improve and keep winning trophies.
You have no argument thats why. Its faux outrage .
Well let me tell you something fella, the groundswell of opinion among the local fanbase is Jurgen should have kept his fucking mouth shut. He really didn’t do himself any favours saying what he did.
It’s always been my belief that the 3 most important things at the club are the manager, the fans and the players. In that order.
The manager of LFC is held in the highest esteem of any manager in world football, the only outlier was Roy Hodgson.
The manager is ALWAYS right, look at the banners on the Kop tomorrow if you want proof of that, you quite simply wont see it anywhere else.
The fans come next. It’s why our club exists.
The players represent us, and they are afforded unconditional love for the most part. Every now and again a situation arises where the fans’ frustrations boil over, the Lucas booing the night we went top of the league springs to mind. I was in the ground for the Lucas and TAA booing and I can say without any shadow of a doubt the Lucas booing was the more undeserved, a young lad from the other side of the world trying to make his mark and getting dogs’ abuse.
But that’s it. Twice in over 50 years following this club. I wish neither had happened but I certainly don’t blame anyone who booed Trent the other week. What he’s done is quite simply inconceivable to me. I’m not going to get into any shite about having to be local because everyone is entitled to an opinion but I will say this -you’re posting on here has been a fucking embarrassment since it happened. You spouted any of that nonsense in the pubs around the ground tomorrow and you’d be fucking weighed in, make no mistake about that.
I’ve gone on a bit but the point I wanted to make is Jurgen Klopp is not an employee of LFC anymore and he’s badly misread the room on this one.
What a crock of drivel.
Can you imagine after all these, TAA announces his retirement from football and embark on his golf career.

“A white peace is a type of peace treaty where posters agree to a cessation of hostilities and a return to the pre-Trent situation.”
It’s just an idea. Because this isn’t really politics or any sort of actual deep held ethics or any truly serious meaningful disagreement at all. It’s about having understanding of the fact that some boo because they are hurt and angry with how Trent did things and about not at all having any understanding of that and strongly disgreeing with voicing displeasure in that manner.
It’s not about anything of actual importance, such as how people should be treated in general or philosophical and/or ideologically deep held convictions or what side you are on in war etc. It’s purely about how people think a fan should be allowed to behave or not behave.
And no, none of this truly casts a shadow on the title celebrations unless people really want it to do so.
