Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) Real Madrid

As I said, no point debating with you, so I won’t.

Personally I was very happy to hear Klopp describe it exactly the way I feel about it.
I hope it changes things for the better, because it’s sad to see.
Tomorrow we lift number 20.
Let’s turn everything red and keep on building to improve and keep winning trophies.

Well let me tell you something fella, the groundswell of opinion among the local fanbase is Jurgen should have kept his fucking mouth shut. He really didn’t do himself any favours saying what he did.
It’s always been my belief that the 3 most important things at the club are the manager, the fans and the players. In that order.
The manager of LFC is held in the highest esteem of any manager in world football, the only outlier was Roy Hodgson.
The manager is ALWAYS right, look at the banners on the Kop tomorrow if you want proof of that, you quite simply wont see it anywhere else.
The fans come next. It’s why our club exists.
The players represent us, and they are afforded unconditional love for the most part. Every now and again a situation arises where the fans’ frustrations boil over, the Lucas booing the night we went top of the league springs to mind. I was in the ground for the Lucas and TAA booing and I can say without any shadow of a doubt the Lucas booing was the more undeserved, a young lad from the other side of the world trying to make his mark and getting dogs’ abuse.
But that’s it. Twice in over 50 years following this club. I wish neither had happened but I certainly don’t blame anyone who booed Trent the other week. What he’s done is quite simply inconceivable to me. I’m not going to get into any shite about having to be local because everyone is entitled to an opinion but I will say this -you’re posting on here has been a fucking embarrassment since it happened. You spouted any of that nonsense in the pubs around the ground tomorrow and you’d be fucking weighed in, make no mistake about that.
I’ve gone on a bit but the point I wanted to make is Jurgen Klopp is not an employee of LFC anymore and he’s badly misread the room on this one.

What a crock of drivel.

Can you imagine after all these, TAA announces his retirement from football and embark on his golf career.

“A white peace is a type of peace treaty where posters agree to a cessation of hostilities and a return to the pre-Trent situation.”

It’s just an idea. Because this isn’t really politics or any sort of actual deep held ethics or any truly serious meaningful disagreement at all. It’s about having understanding of the fact that some boo because they are hurt and angry with how Trent did things and about not at all having any understanding of that and strongly disgreeing with voicing displeasure in that manner.

It’s not about anything of actual importance, such as how people should be treated in general or philosophical and/or ideologically deep held convictions or what side you are on in war etc. It’s purely about how people think a fan should be allowed to behave or not behave.
And no, none of this truly casts a shadow on the title celebrations unless people really want it to do so.

Boo them all

Opinions differ, and there are various reasons for this. For me, Klopp lost any right to wield the moral cudgel the day he sold his soul to Red Bull. This has been discussed at length here. I’m very grateful for everything he’s given to the club, but he’s completely out of touch with the feelings of some of the local fans and completely blind when it comes to protecting his players at all costs. But that was the case in Dortmund, too. I wish there was a bit more tolerance for different feelings, but that’s obviously illusory.

So it will be ok for Klopp or anyone to tell non local fans what they think but nope, fans from ‘around here’, are immune.

And I don’t think anyone can control what you want to do with your emotions but if you think it’s ok, then I think it’s fair for someone to come and tell you it’s not ok as with any matter. You can disagree of course but the usage of ‘local’ fans as a reason is a pain. I have plenty of things to say about these distinction of ‘local’ Vs non but I will leave it for another day that I want to see things burn but today, it’s a day of celebration, in Singapore we are having a open bus tour organised by the official fan club through the city before the Palace match.

Sounds like an evil terror organisation this Red Bull thing.

Based on that we should erase Hendo, Fabinho, Gini and Bobby from Club history for helping the men slaughtering Saudi sports washing maschine.

Oh and don’t forget to count Stevie in.

Boo, don’t boo. Whatever to me. One thing I do wish for is for Trent’s management team to have handled his exit a little better; be that in being far more transparent which would have probably made his golden swansong possible or just kept their mouth fucking shut until the season was over. For some reason they seem to have expected a Legends tour with adoring fans lining the streets to wish him well and wave goodbye. Arrogance to say the least.

Or signs for Leverkusen as player-manager.

On the flip side though, they’re just expressing their emotions, what’s wrong with that? That’s quite clearly the bar that’s been set in this thread, no?

If we agree that there are some things that shouldn’t be done in the name of expressing your emotions, where should the line be drawn?

How is it you’ve managed to contradict your first paragraph in your second? I’m sure of course that you’re in tune with the entire local fanbase.

So what next, if Kenny was to come out and say that he was thoroughly upset by the booing, he’s misread the room? If Fagan, Paisley, and Shankly were to come out of their graves to say it was wrong, they’ve misread the room? How many more voices need to come out in opposition to it before “the local fanbase” realise that they’re on the wrong side with this?

Imagine having to tell grown adults that they should be in control of their emotions. Calling them scum is wrong, but condoning the booing, well that takes some special mental gymnastics. I look forward to the hypocrisy when we next see booing at Everton, or any other club.

OK. A few posts that crossed the line have been deleted, and can I please suggest that everyone just moves on now. We’ve all had our say and this is one of those issue where there is no right/wrong opinion.

Lock this?
The conversation is done. We have polar opposite views among the group and resolution isn’t going to happen.

The potential for fallout is greater than the need to discuss this any further.
