UEFA Nations League

But if they are playing NL games, what about the WC qualifiers?

Why is every single English football commentator or analyst incapable of pronouncing Castagne properly?

There is no “a” on the end; it does not rhyme with lasagna.

Thick cunts.

Anyone watching this? Mbappe, the soon to be Newcastle talisman signing, has just equalized from the spot. Cracking game.

For once, the referees got it right.

Mbappé was in an offside position but Garcia deliberately played the ball, so the forward was not given offside.

It’s a ridiculously idiotic rule but it was enforced correctly.

Yeah, it’s an awful awful interpretation of the rule, but it’s similar the Lovren vs Spurs a few seasons ago. Defensive plays aren’t supposed to count
think me trying to tackle an attacker, he kicks it forward off my shin to a clearly offside team mate and he is played on by my touch. For some reason they have settled on these situations, where a defender is forced to try to intercept or clear a ball because they’re not sure if the attacker behind them is offside, as being applicable. I mean seriously, what is Garcia supposed to do there?

what an exhilarating tournament that showcased all that is great about international football, with tournament favorites/out(delete as applicable and insert name) France prevailing, the fans were on the edge of the seat as they watched (insert winning nation name) France beat (insert runner up name) spain in an epic finale for the ages, with (insert goalscorer/s name here) Kylian Mbappe scoring a goal deserving of winning any final. the game finished (insert score here) 2-1 to the mighty nation who won it

anyone who doubts the significance of international football will be reminded it still has a very significant role to play in world football

Great comments from Courtois after the game yesterday. Ostensibly he’s frustrated they had to play a 3/4 [place game that no one cared about in a tournament people still aren’t sure whether they care about. He slammed UEFA about that but then kept going and said things that really need to keep being said - Super League (UEFA have ignored the valid reasons the clubs wanted to do it), stupid world cup.

Possible addition of CONMEBOL teams from 2024–25[edit]

In an interview with Polish website meczyki.pl, UEFA vice-president Zbigniew Boniek said that all 10 teams from CONMEBOL, South America’s football federation, would join the UEFA Nations League from the 2024–25 edition of the competition.[12] The plans, which would act as a response to FIFA’s biannual World Cup plans, would involve a joint UEFA/CONMEBOL office in London to strengthen relations between the two confederations, and would see the six highest-ranked South American teams – presumably Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay – joining League A, while the remaining four – presumably Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Venezuela – joining League B.

Anyway, there will be four rounds of matches in June; so I guess Kelleher, Trent, Neco, VVD, Robertson, Tsimikas, Henderson, and Jota have to suffer a bit more.

Edit: Henderson out Thiago in
