Swap fishing rights for single market access and pay a hansom grant to UK fishermen.

Yes the die hard Brexiteers will lose it but they’ll be dead in a few years.

Easy.

Well that’s just grandstanding. Nothing to stop any government in the future doing that.

That’s not really a fair bargain! If that happened Brexit would be an undoubted winner.

Why would fishermen need a horse-drawn carriage?

Sure any future government could do that, but a Labour government would be seen as the more likely to actually do so than the current version of the Tories.

Yes, I agree that’s currently the case but they don’t need an evolution clause for that. Successive UK governments have been providing greater employment rights and environmental protections than the minimum requirements of the EU for years.

Exciting hours now. I would normally stay awake, enthralled with tweet-feeds on the latest news on the negotiations, but I am tired and don’t feel like it today. I guess there is also a possibility of an unplanned extension.
I hope there will be some kind of deal.

The Scandinavians are proving difficult

Yeah, many interests. Corona now also plays a role, particularly in the case of Denmark.

The Dane’s won’t allow something transient to become a deal breaker. Far too sensible.

Fish is relatively easy to understand. Seems like hardly anyone of the public cares about all of the other details anyway. Just ‘deal or no deal’.

I don’t think Denmark’s interests concerning flounder fishing etc., will be a deal breaker, but it will probably make Barnier’s negotiation space a bit slimmer in that particular arena of the negotiations.
In any case, I don’t know more details about the negotiations than what I have read recently on twitter though. It has been a while since I read Brexit news intimately.

I imagine Barnier’s constituents being difficult/playing hardball helps him.

That’s probably true, at least in a way. On the other hand, it could be a negative if the distance between the parties is too great too.

Many of the supposed facts you post are wrong. You “cherry pick” the points that back your opinion.
All of my points have been taken from reputable Internet site, Internationally recognised statistical sites etc.
I am not receptive of information I believe to be untrue . You are sounding like a broken record. You are not interested in the truth . Time will prove that the UK has handled Covid poorly and , sadly, that Brexit is a disaster for the country .

This is you ignoring me is it? You’re obsessed

I’ve had to repeatedly correct your constant false claims. I struggle to think of a single post you’ve made in this topic or the coronavirus topic that has been true. That’s not me having an agenda as you might imagine. Objectively, you are pretty much constantly making false claims. STOP LYING.

The only thing we seem to agree on is that the UK has responded very badly to the pandemic. Incredibly you seem determined to try and portray my view on that as the complete opposite. Symptomatic of your lack of good faith and integrity in your replies to me.

I’d appreciate it if you would simply acknowledge that you are wrong about pretty much everything you’ve said about Spain as relating to the UK and move on. Everyone else is perfectly capable of seeing the reality, except you. It’s actually getting embarrassing.

Lads let’s agree to disagree and move on. It’s starting to cross that boundary from debating a topic to personal confrontation.

Life is too short to fight, we are only a small community and we are top of the league and it’s nearly Christmas !
