I was reminded yesterday of her suggestion that the UK could close the border to Ireland and cause food shortages there as a negotiating tactic.

Another layer of Government is just what we needed.

This is definitely me being sarcastic.

Nice, I was thinking proper power sharing. But for that you’ll have to wait for Londonville to be really cap-in-hand. Could come though, it really could come.

Proper power sharing I agree,Irish Scots Welsh all spent millions on devolved Governments with all that entails and the English get nothing a real WTF moment for England.
Lucky you have Boris to look after you.

Less Politicians and Government please, but that would need commonsense from the populace, something which we have very little of it seems.

I think the sentiment is there it just has no confidence to speak out right now, but the force blows for a long time.

It was simply an extension of the same threat first made by the EU. Doesn’t excuse its contemplation let alone broadcast, by either side. But then these are the pressure points so negotiators are going to use them. Much like the UK did when it threatened to stop sharing its security/intelligence information.

Not at all; far from it, what a lad from St Patricks.

I think part of Starmer’s electoral offer will be to offer more power to the regions. I think he hinted at that earlier in the week.

the chief medical officer, Dr Catherine Calderwood, on 2 occasions travelled 1hr away from her Edinburgh home to go to Fife to visit her second home during the 1st lockdown.

for doing this she was warned by the police about her actions, (a warning in Scotland, is like a caution in England). Due to the police been involved, it made it more serious, and the GMC would need to be involved under the part 75 of the GMC good practice code,

this is why Sturgeon “demanded the head of her mad advisor”

I didnt say she was mad, I said med

Do we know in that if she had contact with any other persons?

Completely disagree. England rip off Wales and Scotland to a massive degree. We dont spunk millions on devolved governments, we dont get enough to do that.

Less politicians is a perfect Troy bubble. It would allow them to centralise constituencies to suit their votes. It’s another power grab.

I will agree on common sense though. I always found it odd that the sense that is supposed to be “common” is actually not that common at all.

I would argue that the Barnett formula disagrees with you.

Of course you would. I’d expect nothing less.

It’s just a shame that Barnett himself doesn’t actually agree with having been quoted as saying that it’s a massive mistake.

But there are other issues. Water for example is a good one. Do England pay for the privilege of Welsh Water? Nope. Yet it is Wales that has to manage that infrastructure that keeps the taps on in parts of England.

Southern England is more accurate; they rip other parts of England too, Midlands, North West, North East, Anglia escape it because of Sandringham.

But but but, you’re getting a new train set?

Depends on the Warwickshire NIMBYS…

yeah. In all seriousness you’re right. There is a massive imbalance in the UK.

I’m still shocked at the stuff Thatcher said about Liverpool. Even moreso about things that have happened in places like Tryweryn and Epynt.
