UK Politics Thread (Part 1)

As this point, if any Remain MP votes against it I’ll be fucking livid, and I’m as remain as they come. They surely know this is the best of a shit situation, and all avenues to remain are now closed.

I think the place the torpedoes come from will be the frothing gammons on Tory back benches.

We’re free of the mindless, pointless, endless bureaucracy that’s inevitable when multiple countries band together. The bureaucracy increases exponentially with the number of stakeholder. If we’re not paying Spanish farmers to do nothing, funding EU road building projects and airports that were never used (plus relocating parliament every 6 months) AND trading freely (mostly) with them, that’s the best Christmas present possible. You don’t like it, it seems I really will. Saying that we all know it’s worse is utterly untrue when you view the whole situation.

The analogy is more that I was having the shit kicked out of me, now I pay a few ££ to stop the punishment.

Well this is pregnant :whale:

In any case, it would not surprise me at all, if like last time, there are presumably some controversial points that are not accepted as such, and they want to renegotiate it, etc.

I think, most importantly, that we don’t have to give the Royal Family back to the Germans is the best news. I know that 52% support the Royal Family and 48% don’t but having a hereditary monarchy as head of state is really important for democracy.

I’m just looking for something else to debate about now that the Brexit thing might be getting sorted for the foreseeable future

Maybe for the New Year? Does the UK monarchy die with the Queen?

One comment says its actually going to be a few hours.

God no, worth every penny. Chuck the hippy and give it to his eldest with the gorgeous missus, ban FIAT Unos and we’re creaming the yanks and Japanese for tourist cash for the next 100 years. Is it possible we could all agree on this? Surely it’s not possible that the usual suspects (me included) can disagree across the same battle lines as ever?

Given it’s Christmas eve, I can’t see them hammering much past lunch. Kick it to next week or shake hands now.

Not giving Jürgen back to the Germans surely is the best news.

Hope your right. In the same spirit, I’m going to get on the blower to Netflix and see if they are up for me slipping them a quid a month for the stuff I like instead of paying a tenner to also fund the stuff I don’t want. I’m not optimistic.

Get David Frost to do the talking for you

Yeah, cool, but the PR around it is a bit much for my taste
