UK Politics Thread (Part 1)

I’m not sure that’s right. William’s children are only his heirs. If he dies before succeeding to the throne I think it would pass to Harry as Charles’ remaining living heir.

There is good reason for her to think that she isn’t liked because of her skin colour. If correct, not only should that matter to her, but to everyone else in the country.

Secondly, from what I recall reading at the time, they didn’t get a pay off at all. Harry has an allowance that his mother had left him. All other money from the royal family was stopped.

The issue is less about being in the limelight but the negativity that is being presented in the limelight. If Meghan was written or spoken about the same way that other members of the royal family, this wouldn’t be an issue.

Don’t worry; I don’t think we have any Chelsea fans on this forum.

I do wonder if their fans would agree with Piers Morgan. Also, is the cob he has up his behind about all this Harry and Meghan business really just an angry outburst rooted in the results of his favorite football club.

Haven’t watched the interview, or read most of what’s been written other than the odd snippet here or there. However, I suspect part of the tension she had with the family may have been from a feeling of a lack of support from any of them. One of them may have said something racist, but did anyone else do anything about it? I think Harry has said he was disappointed in his father, but I don’t know if he gave a reason why.

Always kids before brothers I think.

Wikipedia finks that Andrew is eight in line, which will become nine when Meghan has another sprog

Queen Elizabeth II is the sovereign, and her heir apparent is her eldest son, Charles, Prince of Wales. Next in line after him is Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, the Prince of Wales’s elder son. Third in line is Prince George, the eldest child of the Duke of Cambridge, followed by his sister, Princess Charlotte, and his younger brother, Prince Louis. Sixth in line is Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, the younger son of the Prince of Wales. Under the Perth Agreement, which came into effect in 2015, only the first six in line of succession require the sovereign’s consent before they marry; without such consent, they and their children would be disqualified from succession.

Google assures me George would be heir to the throne in the event Charles and William die before the Queen.

Imo what is really damaging the reputation of the royal family around the world is the statement of Archie’s skin color. That will stay no matter what they try. BLM has already called for a boycott of the RF. The UK media answers by spreading now pictures of Charles visiting a black church in London this morning. Just by chance, of course.

Edit
Btw, It is possible not to be a Meghan fan and still be against racism and bullying of any kind.

How does a boycott of the royal family work? I’ve been trying it for decades. I never buy their products or visit their palaces, what more can I do?

As far as the succession goes, they should go back to poisoning and stabbing like in the good old days. Ratings would soar.

Same applies to the current government of Israel, too.

It could possibly have an impact on all the states and regions in which the Queen’s portrait is still hanging. (Commonwealth)

They should just name the person they’re accusing of having “concerns” about the tone of Archie’s skin.

A little to the back foot I think there.

I saw a comment on twitter than she should have said she isn’t comfortable raising her family in the company of an alleged sex offender.

Hard to argue with that.

thats all good and well. Mental health issues are a massive problem regardless of your bank balance.

airing your issues on a global interview with debatable intentions do nothing for the healing process. i think thats the first issue, it can be seen as trivialising mental health issues for personel gain.

im not sure i buy into the ’ helping others becuase they can associate themselves with a princess’ angle either.

its really not the greatest look.
