UK Politics Thread (Part 1)

Don’t invite them round for a beer or offer to do any DIY for them. I’ve been boycotting them for years

Uh oh. Did Piers overcook it?

So for those who think the whole Harry/Megan thing is an embarrassing sham AND hate Piers Morgan, tricky day?

Ben Shapiro’s vid on the subject is excellent but as it’s him, most will hate it on principle. Play the post not the poster? Ad something or another…,

Was this actually said when she was pregnant or was it a conversation earlier in their relationship about if they went as far as having kids.

"Harry: But that was . . . that was right at the beginning, right?

Oprah: Like, what will the baby look like?

Harry: Yeah, what will the kids look like?

Oprah: What will the kids look like?

Harry: But that was right at the beginning, when she wasn’t going to get security, when members of my family were suggesting that she carries on acting, because there was not enough money to pay for her, and all this sort of stuff. "

If racist it makes no difference when the conversation happened other than the narrative now is they were talking about Archie’s skin tone rather than a child they may or may not have if they ended up staying the coarse.

He also didn’t elaborate on the conversation. It may have been an attempt to discuss the possible discrimination a child of mixed race could endure, which Harry took exception to as it would be the child Meghan would either one day be expecting or more closer to home, the child she was already expecting.

TBH, when Megan announced that she was pregnant, really, who didn’t think, please god, let the wean have the blackest possible skin colour.

The truth is, the RF is the very top echelon of the privledged white established order and Megan was always going to dilute that with her black African bloodline. Who the fuck did she think she was, jumping up the order from the bottom in one move, bypassing all those white privledged lesser beings that have faithfully minced round the middle of the tree for generations.

I want to ask a honest question here. In Singapore, I don’t know who the hell is Piers Morgan or his run-in with Meghan but generally, was Piers Morgan doubting Meghan’s claim of suicidal thoughts or is he claiming that he don’t believe people generally when they claim to have suicidal thoughts?

I am asking this supposedly provocative question is that, if Piers Morgan is only doubting Meghan, was he wrong? Did he say that we should not care when people generally claim suicidal thoughts? I think this is quite different, isn’t it, considering that he did know Meghan personally previously and he is just saying he does not trust Meghan’s claims, not that all people who claim suicidal thoughts are fake.

And now that the interview is done and dusted, whats done is done, whats said is said and for the sake of Meghan and her mental health, she should just retreat from the media and any more such interviews so she can live in peace with her family.

Again I have to state that I never understood the necessity of a monarchy or royal family nowadays but I also never liked Meghan (of course I only know here only from interviews and news) and she comes across as a person, fake.

Personally I believe there is some truth to it. Whether it was exaggerated for the interview etc. is another matter. I’d argue it’s pretty tough to be immune to the abuse if the UK press turns on you.

Piers has decided that she was making it all up. He’s also fronting a mental health campaign so it doesn’t look good. To add to that Piers is one of those people that think the Royal Family can do no wrong, should be immune to any form of criticism (because of status) etc. etc.

He royally screwed up. Pun intended. There’s a better way to question the validity of someone’s claims on mental health without going into a mega rant on national TV.

For the record, what I know of Meghan would fit on a postage stamp. I do however, subscribe to the idea that the UK is known for going on witch hunts, and is pretty broken. I would also argue that anyone, that says they are struggling mentally needs to be taken seriously.

Without knowing the question for me is why did they feel the need to do this on TV with Oprah? It’s obviously a move to strike back at something / someone or at least gain some control of the narrative.

Fair enough, I think to make a definitive statement in front of national TV especially on a sensitive topic like suicides is not the smartest thing to do for a personality like him who is watched by many people. I guess he is blinded by his hatred for Meghan.

The strange thing for me is that they have moved on. They have officially cut all ties with the Royal Family (of course, you can never truly get away, the press will not let you). I would think if this was so stressful on her, it would have been intuitive to not blow it up further and put more attention on yourself. So even if she had felt suicidal during her times in the family and I can probably understand how a person can feel restricted and suffocated in a protocol filled monarchy, its also hard for me to believe that she is not craving all these attention on her. Unfortunately in this world nowadays, evidence is not as important as which narrative I choose to believe and I say this for both sides of the narrative.
