Perhaps I am a hypocrite

How I would differentiate it, is I have built a professional reputation. People want me for the skills I bring.

To use the football analogy. My situation is closer former manager, or club tapping up a player at Barca (given they know they are in trouble) rather than a Darren Ferguson situation, winning the PL because his dad happens to be the United manager.

Bizarre way to “level up” , don’t you think?

Williamson, Buckland and Jenrick have all been booted from their jobs. Looks like Raab is going to get hooked as well.

I have no sympathy for Williamson or Raab, Jenrick’s just meh but Buckland did a decent job as Secretary of State for Justice. Think he should have stayed in post.

Who are the replacements? Any good?

We’ll find out later but as they’re politicians, probably not.

Raab’s been sacked as Foreign Secretary but appointed as Justice Secretary, Lord Chancellor, and Deputy Prime Minister
my mate said he thought this would happen over a week ago.

Now Patel stays as Home Secretary!

FFS.

Truss has now been made Foreign Secretary!! Holy shit.

Grayling must be fancying his chances at this rate. Will probably be made Secretary of Health or some other such job where his total incompetence won’t be an issue whatsoever

It’s a game of wheel of misfortune with the current MPs that can take these positions.

Is there really such a thing as a good politician? Maybe it depends on how good is defined.

This.

As a lawyer he’s significantly junior, even to me!

@tesh there are some across all parties but regrettably they are becoming fewer and farther between.

Laura Kuenssberg :joy: the Jack Lusby of BBC

I think that some politicians do go into politics for the right reasons (i.e. not looking for a “career” but rather to genuinely help people) and are good at what they do to boot, but alas, the vast majority of the population cannot seem to get behind them.

Surprised she wasn’t given a cabinet role to be honest. I dont think Boris had much to choose from. Soft headed Brexiteers that would bow their heads and throw any level of self respect out the window while supporting Boris.
