Option 1 - Investigated by MET does not meet standards of criminal wrongdoing. Takes wind out of Sue Grey report. Gas lighting commences.
Option 2 - After 6 months, MET decide they need to be independent. South Yorkshire police investigate for the next 5 years. No one cares as it’s yesterdays news.
Option 3 - Civil servant takes the fall. Downing Street blames Whitehall and calls for reform. Resignations of junior staff to save big dog.
Option 4 - Downing Street waits till either the queen dies, war breaks out, or prince phillip is arrested. A dead cat so big it’s inappropriate to talk about parties and cake. Trivialising past events.
Option 5 - Wrong-doing has been identified by a senior MP who is not that bright (Raab, Patel, Trust). Johnson distances himself from them and condemns their activity’s. Nothing much happens or changes. Perhaps a year away from being in cabinet.
