Due process is so boring. I think as soon as anyone is accused of sexual assault they should be immediately killed, preferably by a mob. OK, something like 1 in 10 accusations is vexatious, but as long as we don’t end up inadvertently killing any innocent white people, I’m alright with it

I get we will have reciprocal agreements with many countries in regards to people who are here legally and have committed crimes.
I’m talking about those who are entering the country illegally on small boats, and without documentation. Their country of origin wont have the first clue where they are or that they’ve committed a rape/murder.
They have no rights whatsoever imo. I’d be happy to put them in an inflateable turtle like you see on holiday and push them back into the channel.

And that’s the problem right there. Laws that were written decades ago that are no longer fit for purpose. Outdated and hopelessly out of sync with modern-day issues.
There will come a day, long after most of us on here are gone, and I am absolutely convinced about this, when our children and grandchildren will ask “why did they let this happen? why didn’t anyone stop it?” and no-one will have an answer for them.
The thing is, in reality your rights are actually what your government/king/leader give you. There is no real higher power than a country.
We can talk about human rights all we like and even conventions and international agreements, for example, but it doesn´t count for much in North Korea, also for example. Laws, rules and convention can be changed, for better or worse.
On the last part I agree, but it´s also that classic boiling the frog analogy. By the time society realises, if they ever do, the damage is done. lots of small changes leading up to massive massive change before you realsie.

Pardon? I don’t think you’ll find anyone on here that doesn’t want controlled immigration and with a robust vetting process.
Most arriving now are from Afghanistan, Iran, Eritrea, Pakistan. Countries either at war or have some serious “issues” pushing these people to extreme measures.
I can’t deny that at least under the previous government small boats were exploited by others seeking entry and the gangs supplying them. Hopefully that route is being closed off.
It would be nice if the western world would stop certain policy decisions that create the situations where people need to move in the first place. Iran was 70 years in the making and the UK is right up there in the blame ranking for that one.
We’ll do exactly the same for resources and when climate change properly starts biting (maybe before our lifetimes that one). How we solve it I don’t know, because too many of us like a new iPhone.
But as a nation we’re also screwed economically without immigration.

For the record I despise the whole small boat thing. How is it in 2026 you end up in a situation where the only route people feel they have is giving a heap of cash to scum in return for a seat in a dinghy?
We’re in the midst of the hottest year on record, smashing the previous record from…erm…last year, and we can say with absolute certainty that next year will be hotter. And the year after that will be hotter still. We’ve blown through 1.5 degrees of warming as if it wasn’t an issue, and we’re now on track to destroy our ability to…deep breath… grow fucking food.
And you think immigration is what your grandkids will be lamenting?
