Or ā€œfallen outā€

I admire the honesty but still cant get my head around it

Really? Thats quite a leap.

Do they? Not so much imo.

So you trust a convicted felon over others. A man who cheated on his taxes, cheated on his wife, and constantly lies. I seriously do not understand how you arrive at this. Logically it makes zero sense.

You dont need to be ā€œthe next Hitlerā€ to be a fascist. Plenty of room in that spectrum to carve out your own identity, and lets not forget, heā€™s not really started.

Clearly not based on actual evidence. Youā€™re not alone there though

Weā€™ll park this one. I think it gets ugly myself unless he wins, and even then something might happen regardless.

EDIT. Not having a go here but more trying to get my head around how people ignore the obvious and derive alternative views, realities almost. Weā€™ve covered this already in this thread but you present a unique opportunity to see it first hand.

The below sums it up for me.

He is objectively and demonstrably the worse candidate. You may not be a racist, bigot, zealot, xenophobe etc, but he enables the very worst American society has to offer, for no reason other than to enrich himself. Voicing support for him lays some of the responsibility for that on you.

His post is a non-sequitur. It shares some pop psych about IQ, but doesnt remotely touch on why Trump and the MAGA right have started referencing IQ so often. The answer to that is ā€œrace scienceā€ā€¦white supremacy.

Referencing someone (a non white person) having a low IQ is more than a statement that a person is not smart enough to do a job. The bigger point, and something his crowd hear clearly, is a statement that they are from a race where they cannot possibly smart enough to do the job they have been given, and the fact they have risen to such a level despite having a low IQ is because of WOKE, that Trump will fix if you vote for him

There is a lot of utter tripe in that response, but this specifically deserves being called out.

They are not JUST calling him a fascist to give him a scary label. They are describing a whole raft of ideas and goals he clearly and repeatedly states having that are definitionally fascist. The label is a consequence of the unambiguous vision and policy goals he is articulating for himself, but ones you for some reason refuse to acknowledge. The F word is almost completely absent from Harrisā€™ campaign though because they know it is a distraction. She has responded affirmatively when directly questioned on it, as she should, but when left to give her message she does not use the word, and instead just describes the things he is claiming he would do. All the things that fascists do.

But the piece you are conveniently ignoring, and have done so repeatedly, Iā€™m sure only because you dont have time to reconcile it for us, is the issue has become salient because Republicans from his administration have recently gone on the record saying ā€œyes, heā€™s a fascistā€.

John Kelly, his offensively apolitical head of Homeland security and later CoS

ā€œCertainly the former president is in the far-right area, heā€™s certainly an authoritarian, admires people who are dictators ā€” he has said that. So he certainly falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure,ā€

Mark Milley, a former Army general, and his chairman of the JCOS for the entire term of Trumpā€™s administration

[Trump is] ā€œfascist to the coreā€¦the most dangerous personā€ to American democracy"

Of course, Trump has called for Millley to be executed for airing these views. Something that isnt doing much for the ā€œcalling him a fascist is just political theatreā€ defenses

But you know, reading stuff and then concluding there is loads of data with really consistent pattern of him being completely fascist is just paranoia. It is much better to pretend these things dont exist so you can sit more comfortably with world view you dont want to have defend.

I forgot Mark Esper, his former defense secretary, also has urged people to take seriously his desire to use the military on our own people, something he describes not as outright as fascist, but as authoritarian and a danger to democratic institutions.

Those dots are begging to be connected, but even if you dont want to, can we not just acknowledge that a desire to violate posse comitatus is a really big fucking deal regardless of what label you want to give to someone who does that?

Yeah, but then Harris is the Marxist Antichrist, so letā€™s call it a wash.

Thanks for at least taking the time to argue your case.
Itā€™s now my turn to be too busy to respond properly. Iā€™ve been out all day and itā€™s now 1 am, but Iā€™ll try to answer tomorrow.

Higher prices to me are unacceptable. I ignore they are happening all over the world and blame the current US president for the local effects of it here in the US. I also ignore that overall measures of affordability have remained fairly stable. But higher prices are why I am voting for Trump
