But i’ve been consistent in my reading of the election so far. I’ve always maintained that Trump would win this even when he was decimated in debates, interviews etc etc. He’s teflon , nothing sticks to him.
Speaks more of the voters that voted for him rather than about anything else.
And I’m that brutal with respect to people who vote for right wingers anywhere. Be it in India as well.

Really happily. His party is far from power in where I stay. And India is still a federal structure.
Also , he did have a knockback in the last elections. More people are against him rather than for him.

Our institutions have never responded to his unique challenges well, but we have had an almost complete capitulation since the insurrection. Across the board. There are lots of fuckhead voters out there loving the awfulness. But Trump is so popular despite having run objectively the worst campaign in history because our institutions have at every turn done the Apu meme, making it easy for regular people to be desperately poorly informed.

Also Southern India is different quite a bit from North India.
As are the north eastern states from others.
