She was prominent in the third wave feminist movement of the 90s and developed a lot of liberal clout due to her association with the Clinton Administration. The two are no coincidence, because the sex positivity of the movement was an angle heavily pushed to distract criticism from the Lewinsky scandal (you go girl, get that presidential dick). At some point in the 00s-10s she became a total loon, but its not exactly clear why. I think it was most likely a response to hitting a career dead end. And that kind of explains why most semi famous people end up becoming MAGA.
