Doubt it, I think it’s more the case that Villareal were a wounded animal at the first half, and in fact we were playing a little too cautiously rather than trying to play our normal game.
They’re having a storming match, doesn’t mean we’re terrible. We’ve not been good, but it’s also very much down to the way they’ve been playing.

Yes, we played a really bad first half, but that’s not the first time it’s happened. No reason to put everything down here. The problem is that we are all so spoiled by now that we are no longer used to such a total failure. Anything is still possible, let’s see how badly they want it.

Robertson has been a steaming pile of abominable shit. Naby cant pass forward to save his life when he’s not helping the other team trying to score. For us to have any hope of winning this, sub both off at the half and go Hendo and Tsimikas. I have no idea why Naby is even playing this game. He’s one of the most infuriating players we have in the squad. When he’s good he’s good and when he’s bad he’s absolute trash. Tiago, again, has no legs, can’t get around the park, so Fabinho is left to defend on his own. This midfield needs at least 2 replacements come the summer as they are too old and too unathletic.

Make no mistake, that is far worse than they played at our place and they got panned for it.
Every single one of them was awful. Utterly abject.
Keita chucking in one of those confidence sapping 45s. Jota anonymous, Sadio couldn’t control a bag of cement, both fullbacks switching off and flapping.
Can’t believe we’ve put that performance in at this stage of the competition and season. We don’t come out the traps flying after half time our European journey ends here.

Trying to play out with with short slow passing is crazy on a wet surface. We need a Milner/ Hendo type in MF , someone who knows how to play KO cup football. Thiago has tried but has won little and Fab has hardly had a kick. Robbo has been all over the place and Trent failed to challenge properly for the second. To slow all around. It will be difficult to turn this around now.
Think it’s basically most of the people in the forum rather than the players, they’ve shown no signs of being complacent, far from it.
And yet if we didn’t concede people would be talking about how we’re being really cautious and it’s a defensive masterclass.

Especailly on the two occasions when we are in the transition play, with Villareal out of position, and just ablantent foul to stop play. Obvious yellow card, but twice got away with it, meaning, can do it again the second half.

We’ve allowed them to bully us the whole first half. They’re very aggressive and using every shithouse tactic there is. Referee has let them get away with persistent fouling.

Yep, Albiol fouled him 3 times on the trot and no yellow, same as Cock kept diving/feigning injuries should have got a yellow and Lo Celso for his verbals after the non penalty should have also had a caution
