Welcome to Liverpool, Andoni Iraola!

It was a chance post and complimentary, a Yorker is a fierce no nonsense ball BTW :+1:

Nah, I called the Slot out in Nov. Im hopeful about this one, looks a better fit for us.

No one has. Not sure why this is always repeated. That would equate to 6 games a fortnight

Yes, Carragher started this nonsense—though, well, it was similar with Klopp in the beginning. Back then, too, there were plenty of voices speaking out against counter-pressing, claiming that you couldn’t play that way in England, and so on. Klopp adapted, and I don’t see any reason why Iraola couldn’t do the same.

He does seem to be someone who uses his squad mind which is a lot easier to manage a game every 3-4 days.

And if I remember correctly, lil Mickey wanted Rafa but then buggered off to Real anyway.

If he wins of course all is good…but if he starts losing a few games…watch it all kick off

Excited with this appointment, seems a bit more social/human than Arne.

Wonder what the football will be like, and which players (youth and fringe) he likes in comparison to Slot (I enjoy pre-season for this reason).

Hopefully a few left field signings to boost us too in the window.

Money is tight at the moment so won’t be able to splash the cash to watch his first league game like I did with Arne.

I think a 2 year contract would fit all. This to me suggests a balance of effective and efficient use of current squad plus a few critical players in positions needed to be added. Unlike other clubs where they will spend ridiculous money just in the first summer. I am sure they will extend once he is comfortable and doing well in the first season.

I think that the supporters will be patience with Iraola. We know that this is going to be an actual transition period.

This is what I like in regards to Iraola.

Iraola showed that adaptability in a more direct way against Newcastle. Bournemouth were missing nine players, and had a bench with just an hour’s experience of first-team football. Iraola got on with it

“I don’t want them to think injuries are an easy excuse, ‘we are not at our level and it’s normal we won’t win today’,” he says. “No, we have to approach it in a different way, players available to play in positions that are not preferred. They are doing well and it makes them better players. I’m very proud of them. It has probably strengthened a little bit our togetherness.”

Pleased with Iraola’s appointment, it all makes sense.
Some of the doomsayers citing the number of matches we play might pause to think the Iraola will have thought about all this stuff.
He comes over as a sensible person and seems much more likely to use his whole squad rather than a select bunch as we have seen of late.
While I don’t like this head Coach bollocks,as he displays a sensible down to earth attitude I feel certain he will get pretty well what he wants to succeed.

Is it confirmed from the club ?

I’m not convinced. Next best option maybe but I can’t shake the feeling we screwed up somewhere.

Still Iraola is imminently in post. Let’s crack on.n
