Welcome to Liverpool, Andoni Iraola!

Some interesting comments and insights from a Bournemouth fan channel, worth a watch

Possibly for me as well! He actually speaks very good English, but aside from the speed, he does have a much more noticeable Spanish accent than Jürgen’s German or Arne’s Dutch.

I think this could work in his favour, as fans will appreciate that he is speaking in a second language. Slot seemed to get a lot of flak because of turns of phrase or idioms that just didn’t come across well.

What? Robbo has an accent? I sometimes use subtitles due to hearing loss, although they don’t always work on live feeds.

yeah, noticeable accent. Not going to be tough for Brits to understand but can be problematic for others

No but someone decided to start a thread anyway.

I looked it up and the Bournemouth fans sang a song based around La Bamba (the Richie Valens song).

I think Lola has much more potential for a sing-a-long, though.

Welcome.
First job, get Mo to stay for another season.
We all know the reason why Mo drew the curtain on his time at Liverpool, well that reason is no longer a factor.

I just saw a comment on a BBC news story where someone just said, ā€œWe’ve signed Doctor Octavius from Spiderman.ā€

I can sort of see it…

Now that didn’t take long.

I was Slot out from day 1. Even beat @thealmightyreds and @Notasuperfan and @walshy07 to it so why wait now… Iraola OUT.

What happened to The Almighty by the way?

He’s pining for Arne.

Didn’t realise what he had until it was gone.

Pleased with this appointment.

I’ve said loads of time on here and to friends - with LFC being so utterly dire this season the only team I’ve watched (other than us) is Bournemouth.

I love the way the play and they go for it. My favourite 3 away games were…

Chelsea. Ended 2-2 and they were like f*** you when they went a goal down and just went for it and all the goals were in 1st half.

United. 4-4 and another end to end game. Got an 84th minute leveller and should’ve nicked last minute.

Arsenal. Won 2-1 - Really took the game to Arsenal and thoroughly deserved their win. They suffocated Arsenal and Alex Scott was superb.

Thats 8 goals against 3 top sides away from home. OK, they conceded 7 but got 5 points to our 1.

Such a difference from our ponderous toothless play. Welcome Iraola. Attack Attack Attack!!!

Surely a bad omen that this thread was opened before the official announcement :grimacing:

Fekir :eyes:

He also doesn’t look far off from various depictions of Bruce Banner (or David in the tv series with Lour Ferrigno being Hulk)

I feel a lot more enthused about this appointment than I was about the last one.

This time we know what we are getting, but last time it was Arne who? I suppose eventually there will be a successor to ā€œAndyā€ Iraola, but whoever it is must come from a league that is respected, i.e Spanish, German, Italian and maybe, but possibly not, French.

Anyway, here we go, etc.
