What's happening? (Part 2)

Yeah, I’m trying to look at it that way, but the waiting will infuriate me I’m sure. It’s the not knowing what the exact problem is and the risks associated with it that bugs me. And I really don’t want to be palmed off into a monitoring box.

I’ll be looking at my insurance policies in the coming days for the immediate injuries and this other thing.

Police statement on Monday too I hope.

I’m sitting in a Schutzhütte (hunter’s shelter) next to a mobile phone transmitter in the forest. Last night’s thunderstorm took out our broadband and it looks like Telekom don’t expect to have it back until 17:00 today.

We spent last night rediscovering the joys of DVDs and broadcast telly!

Ha! Just had the text from Telekom saying we are back up.

Evening,
I’m really sorry to hear what happened and wish you a full and speedy recovery.
I appreciate your frustrations but stay positive it could have been a lot worse.
Hopefully the aneurysm is nothing serious, and you are back up and cycling soon.
All the best :+1:t2:

Oh dear, thank God you are ok. Just do all necessary tests and hope you recover soon!

Thanks. Much appreciated.

My fear is I’m at the mercy of NHS waiting lists now. I want this sorted ASAP. Mainly because I’m certain I’ll have other challenges down the line with my existing CKD and I do not want the two conflicting each other.

One of my fitness motivations is being physically able to cope with the challenges ahead. I really fear being rejected for any given treatment because I’m not fit enough.

I might now be snookered though.

One step at a time Noo, don’t think too far ahead.
What’s your situation right now, and what’s the next milestone?

Yeah , you’re right. Getting over the pain first. Today should be my last day on Co-codamol. Tomorrow might be “interesting” again.

Getting mobile again. I managed to walk / shuffle round our square yesterday which was a small win.

Oddly, I see getting back to work as a milestone. A signal of things being normal again. That’s a few days off I think.

Sounds like pretty rapid progress. Don’t rush though, you don’t want any setbacks.
In the meantime, I suggest you go back and read through all my old posts. This will numb your brain and put you in a state of mild catatonia

My home brew was ready at the weekend. My son passed on his way to mothers day so I got it in the fridge and we drank a bottle. It was bloody good so much so I have decided to get some more in.
It was supposed to be Lager (blonde) beer but was more like amber. I only got 1 litre from what was supposed to make 1,5. Must have had the heat too high whilst ‘simmering the stuff’.
I’d say it was like a decent mild.
The name of the manufacturer is ‘Le Kit à Biere’.

Nice generic name there.

Send us a pic next time (of the beer, not the kit).

Four weeks since my operation and I still feel like shit. Pain in my elbow, pain in my ribs. I wanted to cut back on the painkillers, but it was too uncomfortable.
Six weeks is supposed to be the recovery time, but I’m not optimistic. Probably because I’m old.
Bollocks! :frowning:

I’m having non vegetarian food for the sake of having it.

I increasingly find chicken to be tasteless. Red meat is something I’ve been advised against having. I like some small servings of seafood but otherwise I increasingly find that I can live without non vegetarian food

Welcome to club Vege.
1st rule is, don’t mention club Vege.

I stopped in 1993… cannot say I miss it in any way.

I cut back yesterday as the drugs I was on were advised for 3 days only. Survived till then end of the day when a paracetamol was needed.

Nothing yet today but still sore. Best of luck bud. You’ve had a more serious injury than me.

And being old does suck.
