What's happening?

Hello folks, a rather belated Eid Mubarak. Today was Eid-ul Adha, the Muslim religious festival when sacrifice livestock. There will be loads of meats in the menu in the coming days. Wish the blessings of Eid is endowed upon all of you.

Colonial England claimed all pineapples when they found out it worked with gammon(s).

I disagree on them appearing recently. Ive had them in McDonald’s in the 90s. That would be the time I was in Singapore. They’ve been around for quite a bit.

They are an abomination.

Belated Bakr’id wishes to you and your family.

And talking about McDonald’s and their breakfast. Don’t mind their breakfast menu. Much better than their usual tripe.

I meant in the UK.

Don’t think McDonald’s in the 90s was that far evolved to keep regionalised menus. Except perhaps curry sauce for those nuggets (in Singapore).

The globalisation happened much later.

That said , UK might have had a different menu from the get go

I never ever go to McDonald’s.
It is a place of which I have no knowledge and no wish to discover.

The breakfast items are/were pretty okay.

Be it in India / USA / Dubai

Would always skip the hashbrowns though. They are am abomination.

Been a good few years since I’ve had breakfast at McDonald’s. Was a thing when I was airport hopping during that career bit of mine.

I think you’ll find there are plenty of better options at Singapore airport than that.

What’s this thread again? Oh yes, “What’s Happening?”, it’s Karneval der Kulturen in Berlin today where multiculturalism is celebrated in a big street parade. Unfortunately, it’s cold and windy and looks like a storm is on the way.

I want to clarify that I did see hashbrown on the menu at McDonald’s in the 90s in Singapore.

But McDonald’s breakfast for me was pretty alright. In those places I’ve mentioned before. Better than their regular stuff at any rate.

And I don’t like hashbrowns. It’s just that i feel the need to point out that the breakfast menu at McDonald’s is alright.

Mac Donald’s is American.
I never set foot in an Mac Donald’s until my kids were big enough to survive that toxic stuff (it still caused diarrhea) so about the mid 2000’s. Since then they have never had hashed brown’s on the menu. They started horrible potatoes :potato: around 2010, disgusting wedges of potatoes with skin on and some Herby stuff fried then left to go cold. In fact all they did was left to go cold. The way around cold Mac Donald’s was order something other customers didn’t which lucky for me in my area was chicken burger :hamburger:.

For me it was asking for french fries without salt.

I never thought of that as without salt the french fries are disgusting.
What about the burger?
Surely it had been sitting around getting colder whilst they fried the ‘fresh’ frites?

You’ve got the sauce on the side to put up for the lack of salt.

Either way , you get fresh “frozen fries”.

Ok, let’s sort this one out once and for all.

What do you think of McDonald’s?

  • It’s a load of crap and I hate that fucking clown
  • It’s basically crap, but the breakfasts are surprisingly good
  • It’s a wonderful place to get a delicious and nourishing meal
