He’s also shown he can be a damn good centre back. That run he had in the side in 2019/20 I think it was, he had a great partnership with van Dijk and he was pretty much flawless. He’s not been as good since the injuries that followed but there’s a player there for sure.

Antonio Silva is supposedly highly rated. Might be an option.
Goncalo Inacio is the one I like. May get to see him up close if Sporting gets drawn with us tomorrow.
Also think Perr Schuurs is a good defender, and wouldn’t break the bank.

Against the competition we would’ve faced this summer, the money and him playing Virgil’s position, I’d say no.
Gvardiol has played left back a number of times. He’s versatile. It’s not a case of centre back only. We also only really have 2 quality centre backs. There’s plenty of games. Konate does have his injury woes too. Also he would be the future.
Money. Perhaps. But we did bid large for Caicedo. Also surely there’s some savings in wages this season with the number of players who’ve left. His favourite club is Liverpool by all accounts too. Certainly within the league anyway.
He’s a good player. Pre Konate he had a great partnership with Van Dijk. I want to be fair and acknowledge he has not got back to that level yet. Injury, then form and rhythm, a couple of mistakes along the way, and he fell down to back up status.
Still, what are we expecting of a back up defender?
He is of a good age with good experience. Fast, strong, can cover central defence and right back. He’s a decent player, at the least, and I’m happy we have him.
We do need another central defender, hopefully one comes in tomorrow, but if not, Klopp will go with what he has and we might see Quansah seeing more action.

We completely rebuilt our attack last year, now the midfield… Next year the defense.
Wish they could handle more than one thing at a time.
Attack might not be completed with some players still yet to fully prove themselves they are starting material and Salah might go next summer, with a year left…
So it’s more complex than that. We’ll see if we will still need a proper #6 player.
Grav counts as U21 for the PL so we could do a non-homegrown CB. I beleive the rules for the Europa are different but we could find a way round that if needs be.
