Who would you buy?

Regarding Musiala, his current contract is only up to 2026. Which surely makes it interesting for a lot of big European clubs.

He might be looking at his options before potentially renewing with Bayern, which he didn’t do since 2021.

An alternative to that would be to buy the player with a clause to send them on loan for 2 seasons to Brighton, then we can see how they develop and if they are worth bringing into the fold, or sell them to Brighton on a permanent deal

Mate, no PL club would ever agree to that.

I don’t think you’re allowed to buy a player then loan them to another PL club in the same window - but if you hold on to them for a few months then yeah you can do it in January.

It seems like that might have been our initial plan with Marmadashvili going to Bournemouth until Valencia demanded he stayed with them.

Alphonso Davies has DECIDED to join Real Madrid as a free agent in 2025, reports Relevo!

Relevo are also claiming that Trent will not extend with Liverpool, which is another way of saying he’ll join Real Madrid.

Thankfully it’s always been you breaking the news to us on these forums, so I can sleep safe.

Just make sure you stay on top of it though!

Don’t kill the forwarder!

No, on the other hand, I insist that you continue being the one to post all of this, do not let anyone else get the opportunity.

You’ll be kicking yourself for this when he starts posting selfies with Bellingham come July…

Given your track record, it would likely be because Bellingham has forced his way out of Real, taking a paycut to join us.

I think it’s the one case where Nikola will be proven right

So, if Trent is really off to Spain, which RB would we like to see replace him?

Whats wrong with Bradley ? We will need another RB but that could easily be someone like Calvin Ramsay or a low maintenance transfer.

We don’t need to go in for the top RB targets

Bradley is a good young player, but he’s not going to be able to bear the burden of playing every game for a team which is challenging for the league and, possibly, CL.
Why is that not obvious?

What do you actually know about Ramsay? Last I heard he had a long term injury.

We are a top team and need top quality players in every position.

Well we thought the same , of atleast I did when Klopp turned to Trent.

I believe our youth scouting and coaching has gotten better since then.

It’s more of Bradley being first choice with Ramsay (if fit as a backup). Remember that Ramsay was the more rated of the two before he had the setback.

There can be a case for someone with experience coming in just to see off games but I don’t see that as a priority. Not something we should be spending huge amount of money for.

a RB is easier to replace than a LB. Ideally we get someone who can play both but those are increasingly dying breeds. But a LB has to be the main preference.

We won’t get a Trent type RB. What we will get at good value is someone who’s 25 or thereabouts , a conventional attacking right back who probably offers more than what Tsimikas offers in the left wing.

So, we will need a new RB then.

Back to the original question - who?

ps Ramsay is struggling to get into the Wigan team. I hope he comes good, but he’s a long way from being an option for us at the moment.

We might need a backup RB. Especially if Ramsay isn’t at the level we need.

I don’t know who. A low key target. Maybe sweeting can search around his database to see which targets offer the same metrics as what Bradley does. And who can be affordable.

Any other target who’s a noted guy is going to cost a bomb. We need people who are under the radar and yet come up to scratch. Lads like Endo , Tsimikas etc.

These are Bradley’s stats on Fbref.
Keeping in mind that he’s not a finished product yet , these are mighty fine stats.

Not going to be difficult to find someone who’s around this even if he is like a good 6 years older.
