And he looks like a player who could perhaps take Gomez’ role of a utility player in the squad, too, if Gomez departs in the summer.
That said, I expect him to become a better centre back than Gomez in time, though how much playing time he can get at Liverpool remains to be seen - provided Slot rates him and Quansah himself opts to stay and fight for his place.
the fact that I’m bored. One player and one player only from each of the PL sides that you wouldn’t mind having at Liverpool.

Again. They need not be on par with what we want. But would they be good enough to make our squad. Reason why I chose mcatee probably speaks to my bias. Understand many players from City to choose from.
Is the question essentially who do we think is the best player on each squad? Or is it about selecting players from other clubs that answer specific gaps or needs we have right now?
I don’t think this season with hurt Branthwaite that much, in terms of potential suitors. Other players on the market, yeah maybe. Things have to be taken into more context. Contract until 2027 so it could be decision time soon.
Will be an interesting summer for him. Availability might depend on how much money Everton have to spend. I could see Newcastle interested. Not sure if they have been linked already but they’ve already shown interest in Quansah and Guehi.
As for us, since it seems like Virgil is staying, I don’t think it makes much sense to go (big) for someone who’s main and only position is LCB. I do want more (or better) competition at CB in general. Slot might want to add someone a bit more comfortable on the ball than Konate.

I’d take KDB on a free, still a top player. Passing range to replace Trent and experience in the midfield that we are lacking (no disrespect to Endo). No need to tell that’s won’t happen, I get that. But it’s fun to play make believe.
I cba going into that much detail, so, off the top of my head, here’s a list of players at PL clubs that would be an improvement on who we currently have in our first XI:
I love Ibou, but Saliba would be a no brainer. (Huijsen or Branthwaite would be ones for the future not an immediate starter)
Kerkez from Bournemouth or Robinson from Fulham.
Isak from Newcastle or Cunha from Wolves in the CF.
Rodri obviously, if we’re in fantasy land.
Eze in the 10.
That’s it.
EDIT: Oh, and if Trent goes, Porro or Livramento perhaps in RB. But I’m not sure it’s worth bothering given the progression I expect from Bradley. I’d rather go a more experienced backup/player to compete for that spot.
