Getting on my nerves. Sich negative football!

I hope it doesn’t go to penalties because having seen England’s efforts I wouldn’t be confident.

Hope they take this one better than the ones last Friday.

Should have left it to Bronze she actually took a good one.

Well, that should be the pubs full on Sunday.

Spain vs Germany? Should be Spain, but there is no telling the way this is going.

Yeah I’m not sure why the knob head Italian manager was moaning… Maybe he has seen the wrestling in our matches not given.

I hope it’s Spain to be honest. They definitely play the nicest football to watch.

start ageymang and bring russo on later. this is her tournament, like Owen in 1998.

nearly had a magical second, keeper had given up. saved by the crossbar!

england’s problem in all the goals theyve given up is the same: lose the ball in bad areas and then the team is out of shape and cant recover quickly enough.
and in the knockout stages welook toothless until Michelle comes on.

Bit cheeky that. Having pizzas after beating Italy

Nearly missed the kick off there. Germany still have 11 players on the pitch after 5 minutes!

Is your feed in Europe as bad as the one here in the states? Almost unwatchable. Probably a FOX thing.

I’m watching it on Das Erste, the main public service channel in Germany, so it’s pretty reliable.

@jaffod

regarding quality of the womens game, this spain team are really probably the best to watch currently playing a very good german team…

the game itself isnt too bad, without being a classic, but to put it in context, id be interested to see what you think of the standard here…im enjoying it more than some premier league games ive seen

certainly not claiming theyd go anywhere near beating the mens teams…but as a contest this is a good barometer for what the womens game can provide at its peak

I’m not watching it and haven’t seen very much of the competition at all tbh. The bits I have seen have been quite contrasting - I saw some of the Germany-France game and the French moved the ball around quite well but I’ve also seen some play that resembled a playground kickabout. The penalty shoot-out between England and Sweden was embarrasing.

Just to be clear I have no objection to women’s football at all. Good luck to them. The problem I have is when people start elevating it way beyond it’s level and claiming the women’s game should be on a par with the men’s and advocating equal pay/ equal money from sponsorship deals etc.
Nobody in their right mind would pay 100K+ a week salaries to women players and no company would spunk tens of millions on shirt sponsorships etc for a women’s team.
Just some perspective and objectivity is needed I feel.

0:0 at full time and extra time to come.

Germany were very close to scoring at the end. Tiredness creeping in?

Both teams are effectively set up defensively, but Spain has a natural flair.

It’s going to be down to a mistake or penalties, but a surprisingly engaging match.
