He isn’t worth the price tag now. The question is if he’ll make it look like a fair deal or, even better a steal, down the line.
The potential is definitely there, although like with Wirtz, you have to ask if he’s that much better than much cheaper but still capable alternatives.

I think the way to look at a deal like this is that
a) he becomes a top player for as and stays with us for a decade or more. In which case don’t worry about the fee.
b) he plays for us for a few years, and we then decide to move him on to one of the big European clubs for approx what we paid for him. In which case don’t worry about the fee.

c) He gets crocked in his second PL match and is never the same again. We sell him three years down the line for peanuts.
He could also flop, and like Chelsea did with Timo Werner… we might get a third of the price we paid back.
This is a huge, huge risk. There is no other way to put it. I’m already not comfortable with the Isak risk (because of his fitness history) and I think it is getting too big for us.
