Yan Diomande (Winger) RB Leipzig

Transfer fees are bonkers today so I dunno, but it’s way more than double what we just paid for Munoz. After what we paid for Isak and Wirtz I’m just a little wary of these hyped up prices, especially for a 19 year old.

I thought Nmencha was better

His Sister died just after his debut for Leganes, so well over a year ago, so really should be over the grieving.

Still heartbreaking what happened

Yeah Nmecha was good too. Very different players. I just love the way Wirtz moves the ball into good areas so easily and keep the momentu, going forward. It’s not flashy but very economical.

Grief is not linear. Especially losing a sibling you were so close to.

It hits you in different times.

In truth you never get over it. You just learn to cope. And sometimes the coping mechanism doesn’t work.

Also, he’s 19, still just a kid.

I agree, but from the posts earlier it seems people aren’t aware of the timeline.

Also, if this is the case then Slot shouldn’t have been sacked due to the grief over Jota’s death.

Again in his letter in response to his sisters death, he sees football as an opportunity to make his sister proud in her belief that he would be a star.

I’m not disputing his motivation, I’m saying he most definitely hasn’t “gotten over it”

Anyway il leave it. It’s bitcoin’s and we ve exhausted the Diogo debate

add the pressure of a £100M+ price tag hanging over his head if he signs for us, then there is the Press on his back if he doesn’t hit the ground running,

its a no from me, if we have to pay £100m+ for his services at his age and experience…

If the club think his metrics are deserving of being a Liverpool and they want to pay the price, then so be it.

But we are already coming out with excuses for him not having a good game, BTW it is only one game and everyone as an off day, will watch the upcoming Ivory Coast games to hopefully get a better feel for what he may offer.

Clearly the Germans had him marked as a problem, to double mark him, that alone is a decent plus!

Not his best game, but it was Germany and he was doubled the whole time, and he set up their goal. So not too shabby!

He wasn’t doubled the whole time, he had several occasions where he was faced with one man and he just played safe.

I even mentioned one in the game where he faced a CB and I know Initially he was 1 v 1 against Kimmich which was mentioned in game.

Plus, he will be doubled teamed all the time for us!

Only a few times was he not doubled on, sometimes triple teamed. But its not one of his better games. Yet had an assist.

In any case, if we do buy him, it’s based on a season long performance

While I agree with this, is it not a concern if it is impacting his performances at this stage that it may continue to influence them next season?

He is a brilliant footballer, young with loads to learn and loads of potential.

He will have the odd poor performance.

His grief is personal to him, and his season in Germany suggests he hasn’t let it effect performances.

How his grief, how anyones personal experience of loss becomes the discussion is really strange.

Hes young. Been linked with a move to us for big bucks. At a WC where now he is seen as they new hope. Plus grieving.

Heads probably all over the place.

One he signs he will settle

It is in response to posters talking about his grief and that’s why he had a poor performance, I think and I may be wrong, that the posters thought that he had just lost his sister, when she died tragically in 2025 just after he signed for Leganes.

So why it would affect his performance against Germany seems to me to be wide of the mark.

Absolutely, and if it still is, the question becomes why would this differ next season. But alongside Hugo’s ‘sad cat’ post, comments from Ibou and others about a lack of MH support, you have to hope the club would be keen to ensure a really strong wrap around support system especially for players going through personal tragedy.

I think his sister gave him the belief he could make pro. Hes now at world cup so young. Probably full of emotion.

Im not saying it affected his performance. But hes 19…hes allowed an average game.

He got an assist in a decent first half…2nd half he faded a bit but so did his team as an attacking threat.

How was he poor against Germany? He looked a constant threat and he made their only goal
