One of the very good things about Barcola I think. he´s looking to get in behind a lot.
he also plays with his head up and passes into the box well.
Seems a willing runner, Minteh. So why not

On his stats, they are broad in what he offers and I like his dribble and crossing stats, especially with Isak in the box and the bodies we now have attacking the box.
With regards to assists, this isn’t always a great stat as it all depends who is on the end of the chance, if it is Haaland or a Joe Gomez then the possibilities of getting an assist greatly alters, for me Expected Assists XA is more important.
His workrate is a real bonus, especially for an Iraola team
As mentioned earlier, there is no one available that stands out but Minteh is probably the best shout out of the bunch.
By the numbers, Minteh is elite in mutilple areas. He lacks output but who knows how much of that is related to the system Hurtzler employs, quality of team mate etc. Doku has similar expected assist numbers but nearly twice as many assists.
Anyway he is top 5 in all these metrics:
Goal creating actions (GCA) 5th
Successful takes ons 3rd
Progressive carries 3rd
Carries into the penalty area 2nd
Touches in opposition penalty area 2nd
Why didn’t you look at the game against us, he was a real thorn in our side that day and playing off the left.
Yep as I mentioned in my post above all depends on who you are assisting ![]()
Yeah he did well. Couldn´t find it on Youtube to be honest.
I´m not saying he´s not a good player. He is a good player but I am not sure he will become a great player and I think we should be looking for that player ideally.
Agree also on assists. Very flawed stat anyway. The guy who passed to Maradona for that run against England probably got an assist. And numbers can often explode after being low for a while.
In that one video he gets the better of Konate three times. Slips making the cross for one having bypassed Konate so easily he couldn’t even make a challenge, should get a foul on the edge of the box for the second having turned away from him nicely, and gets a dangerous ball in the third time.
Yes there’s an instance where Frimpong prevents him going round the outside but there’s another where his close control draws a foul in a dangerous area as he holds off Frimpong with Konate backing off into the box.
Then there’s the cross for the goal where Szoboslai stands off as he knows he can’t engage him given his pace and the run in between Jones and Konate that results in him getting a shot off.
There’s maybe one example of there that at a tenuous stretch could be described as kick and rush like but other than that, just looking at the Liverpool clips, there’s not another example of him doing anything you wouldn’t want a pacey wide man to do. And, he didn’t half look dangerous for someone you said Konate and Frimpong coped with quite easily.
Hidden stats?
How do they define a goal creating action? I assume it´s not goal or assist only.
And what defines a take on?
Google it, thats what everyone else does, don’t be lazy
The definitions are in the attached article, Mucker. ![]()
All three of those times he just knocked it left and dashed after it. And actually Konate got a foot to his cross and it went to Ali a result. And the first he just kicked it in to Gravenberch after running into a position out wide, though Konate tried to push him.
The clip at 4:32 - Konate knows he is going to run to the left quickly and just eases him out to the corner flag.
Where he kicks it and rushes past Frimpong into Konate? Not really dribbling is it.
The cross where Szobo did some half arsed nothing. Yeah decent cross from Minteh. Pathetic defending.
yes nice run (not with the ball) in between Jones and Frimpong though took too long and poor shot when he got the ball.
Dribbling for me is not just running in a straight line like Theo Walcott. Have to manipulate the ball to get the defender moving, being able to go left or right.
I´d rather talk to a person.
Yeah, saw that and thought that your observation was pretty astute. ![]()
And I prefer to do my own homework
Thankfully we can both do things as we prefer.
Odds on if I post enough I may get something right ![]()

And in regards to the reply from Bimbo, you still had to do your own homework!
Well my point was that it´s very difficult to define and 2 ´take ons´ are not of equal value.
Getting truly past a player so he stays beaten isn´t the same as getting a yard of space to the side, or past him but forced wide, for example. basically not a stat I think is that definitive. Not that many are
