Should be off the wage bill and ideally generating a little transfer revenue. If you´re a club operating efficiently and getting shit done, they should have been straight out the door.
Oddly enough, its not just up to the club to make that decision.

It’s up to the club to incentivise them to leave if they don’t want to.
There also has to be someone willing to buy them.
That problem exists again if we wait a year. We can always lower the fee to get rid.
Or take them free if we agree to terminate their contract

Think we all want that but we need to find willing buyers. We shouldn’t have to pay to get rid of Chiesa or Elliott. Better they go on loan if no one is willing to commit to a purchase.

I meant like mutual agreement. They can leave and no fee. Contract terminated mutually, owed nothing

Mutual agreement usually involves paying them something of the contract owed. And then you’re getting no fee.
You want a low fee you have to find a willing buyer and it be a club the player is willing to move to and that can pay them in line with their expectations.
We’re reportedly paying Chiesa £150k a week. Even if you give him away we’re likely still going to have to cover part of that until his original contract with us is up.
Good thing about Minteh is that his Nation Gambia is unlikely to qualify for the Africa Cup because they have Ghana and Ivory Coast in their qualification group.

And are you really telling me nobody in all of Europe wants chiesa or Elliott? Even for half wages ?
It doesn’t have to but typically does because why would Chiesa give up on a £150k a week deal to get a move somewhere that pays him £75k a week.
If it was easy as that neither would have been on our books at the start of this pre-season. Chiesa has essentially been anonymous for two years and Elliott has missed a year of football and looks completely unfit.
Contracts mean we can’t force them out and we can only sell if a willing buyer comes forward. Right now the latter look very thin on the ground but we might get someone willing to take a punt late on. But the chances of commanding a fee and not having to pay anything to either player is practically zero.

I was implying more that we pay even half their wages so buying clubs or clubs taking them wouldnt have to pay their full wage and we´d still save half.
But do these players not want to play football at all?
Well we can, and probably would have to do that. But then you still need to find a club willing to pay Chiesa £75k a week. And then the first £4m of any fee we could get essentially goes on paying him his £75k a week to play elsewhere.
Anyway, back to Minteh and whether he’s just a kick and rush merchant

If we were stupid enough to pay him 150 per week, surely some clubs are at least half as stupid as us.

But we´d be paying him 150 per week anyway so it´s still a saving.

Most likely is linked to Minteh leaving but they could just be bringing in a player knowing they don’t want to go half the season with Minteh out injured. It would be nice if we could do that at right back and striker.
