Your "second" or favourite non-LFC club

Dundee, my grandads team.
Followed them all over Scotland during my mid teens, only giving up when I started playing Saturdays for my local amateur club.

Back in the heady old days you could have got Dundee on a Liverpool shirt…

I’ll get me coat…

Famously managed by Bob Shankly (Bill’s brother) so a good Reds connection there.

In the PL - Arsenal - for many reasons.
Non-PL - Swindon Town and QPR
Scotland - Queen of the South
Europe - St Etienne

Used to play with Dundee a lot on FM when I was a kid. Back then when they had some decent results, European qualification (I think?), some cool foreign players, etc. Plus, I love the proximity of both grounds in Dundee!

Claudio cannigia played for them in the 00’s as did Ravenelli

Huge game the day…

Clachnacuddin v Inverurie Loco’s in the Scottish Cup 1st round,

can 3rd bottom Clach beat 2nd bottom Inverurie, (who have a new manager) ?

it should’ve been on Sky Sports 1, but UEFA wouldnt let them show it,
as it would affect attendances at all the matches across Europe!

their loss…

Honorary mention to Brighton. Probably the only team apart from Liverpool which I’m looking forward to see matches of.

If for no other reason than to hear the commentators mangle the pronunciation of Clachnacuddin.

A few years ago I was held up in Ecclefechan and had to phone my brother to say I would be late.

A scouse receptionist answered the phone and and shouted to him, “Dave, it’s yer bruther, he’s stuck in Ecclefechan.”

It turns out that Ecclefechan is hilarious when pronounced in a scouse accent.

I’d imagine it being funny in most accents TBF. :joy::nerd_face:

My second favourite team, Marine AFC, are playing in an FA Trophy semi final today. You might recall they played Mourinho’s Spurs side a few years ago in the FA Cup. They could meet Southport in the Wembley final. The Sandgrounders are playing in the other semi.

Since, i was a toddler, i lived in Acton, West London for a few years, so the closest Football Club to us was Queens Park Rangers (QPR), so that club would be my secondary club. I have seen a few games at Loftus road over the years

I am still in Ealing Borough, we are also near to Brentford FC, but they are in a different borough. So, i could choose them, but I won’t as they are EPL and I knew more QPR supporters. Other.clubs also not far from my area are Chelsea FC  and Fulham FC. I much prefer Fulham.u
