I saw that earlier. My understanding (@Kopstar) is that essentially purposefully damaging Isak’s career by ‘putting him in the reserves to rot’ would mean Isak could justifiably terminate his contract with just cause under article 15 of the FIFA regulations
Villa, who already have Watkins, potentially beating Newcastle to the signature of Jackson.
Have the Newcastle executive team been on holiday for the past two months? Maybe they’ve all been holed up at the Riyadh Ritz Carlton enjoying some “hospitality”
Surely if it’s all about ‘saving face’ with these dickhead owners then just tell Isak to put in a transfer request? He doesn’t get any loyalty bonus, etc from them for leaving, nor does his agent and they get a big transfer fee - £130m.
They can spin it however they want then. Sold him on our terms, we wont be bullied, he lost out on millions, and so on.
If a written request goes in, it will be because the player will have been told by the club that he will be sold once it has been submitted. Not to make the owners change their minds.
I think the point being made is that at this stage a transfer request is just admin as he’s made it clear he wants to leave already and it’ll make zero difference to the situation.
There’s zero chance they can come out of this situation with anyone thinking a sale was done on their terms.
