Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

That is not far from how Saudi bankrolled the Club World Cup (as a kick back for Infantino manipulating the bidding process to get them the 34 world cup).

To entice the European sides to play they needed to be bought with huge prize money. But to have that prize money on hand they needed a huge TV deal. None of the regular broadcasters were particularly interested so a disruptor company bid for the rights with money they didnt have and so needed PIF to come in with a huge investment for a minority stake in the company to afford it.

I think this means if Toon say no we will just hijack their move for Ekatike (however you spell his name)

Did John Henry just discover he has Saudi parentage and is in line for the throne?

What were you saying the other day when I posted the same thing but from a different journo? :joy:

My take is that Newcastle are looking to add Ekitike to their front line, not to replace Isak with him. I’d be surprised if this comes off, but what do I know.

In any case, this is a good test to see if Ornstein is a serious information source or not.

Considering how much TNT sports and its previous name pissed off Klopp I’d doubt we would give the steam off our piss.

So we’ve not made a bid and Newcastle are clear they don’t want to sell but we’ve let them know we’ve £120m if they fancy it?

Not sure there’s that much to get excited about here.

Isnt it well known that the player didnt want to discuss a new deal this summer and has asked to be informed of any LFC Interest.
If Newcastle know he wants out, wont sign deal and head has been turned then they may decide to sell.

Not much but there has been a slight twitch in my groin.

Just to confirm, did you experience similar when you ITK’d Wirtz?

Well as you I was an ITK back in June…

Not heard anything about him wanting to be kept abreast of any interest from us. I’m sure his agent is already fully aware of any interest we may have.

As for not signing a new deal, hasn’t he got three years left. Not exactly in a position to be holding Newcastle to ransom.

Nah, that’s the public posturing of Newcastle, made through their mouthpieces and apologists. I’m not an expert on Ekitike but everything I’ve seen from him and read about him suggests that he works best as the lone centre forward - exactly like Isak.

Newcastle won’t buy Ekitike for 70+ million pounds to sit on the bench and even if he could play together with Isak, that would require a complete tactical shift from Howe - which I’m pretty sure he doesn’t intend to do because he’s played roughly the same system since he came to PL, has just bought Elanga and generally relies on wingers supplying the centre forward.

I don’t know if this will go through but I’d be very, very surprised if Ekitike and Isak were playing together next season.
