Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

It takes quite something to get rattled by those two nobheads

That’s their audience.

Now he has asked to move why would we pay £130m? Surely £100m + add ons.

Now PIF….. surely they will suggest a Saudi club bids £160m+. If it’s about money for him then why not?

They will avoid selling to us. Dodgy as feck but that’s business.

Won’t mind that. We keep Nunez and rotate with Ekiteke

i stopped it at the bit where his numbers included rodrygo, Guehi and Isak all coming in…

on a side note, why does every podcasty thingy presenter always look up over to the left hand top of the screen…not at the camera, but off into the distance…is it ment to signal deep thought or something?

Probably looking at a another screen

thats a fairly specific example…im just putting 2 and 2 together here…

i wonder why?

they are presenting their podcast, should be directly talking to the target audience? if they need a script they could use the screen infront of them, they could split the screen if they wanted to see an image of them selves…

You’re not suggesting they might be making stuff up, are you?

If I was doing a team that included Isak, it would be a 4231:

Isak
Ekitike Wirtz Salah
MacAllister Gravenberch
Kerkez Van Dijk Konate Frimpong
Alisson

The above could be tweaked to 4222, with Ekitike playing alongside Isak in the highest line.

One thing to note about formations is that Slot, in the best Dutch tradition, will have his own version of total football going on, and the formations we fans like to post are but a mere starting point. In all likelihood we will play multiple formations every game, including different set ups on both sides of the ball, and also different set ups to close a game out or chase a game as needed.

The team above leaves lots of high level subs, including Gakpo and Szoboszlai. We will rotate a bit more than last season as Slot will have a few more he will trust - because he bought them! Therefore I fully expect him to use a couple more players with meaningful minutes as the season unfolds.

Can’t wait!

I wonder if the timing of Isak’s transfer request leaking was driven in part by Arsenal wrapping up Gyokeres. Wait for others to make their signings and then swoop in and buy Isak with limited competition for his signature.

Based on what Slot did at Feyenoord where Gimenez was signed in the summer but only made sporadic appearances until he got his first full 90 minutes in February, I think Ekitike won’t be a starter to begin with. Maybe Slot will train him to take on Mo’s position in a 4-2-3-1.

                                 Isak
     Gakpo Wirtz Salah
                        MacAllister Gravenberch
Kerkez Konate / Guehi van Dijk Frimpong

If we sell Elliot, Chiesa, Nunez and Diaz then our attacking options on the bench would be a bit limited. I can’t see any of those four wanting to stay if they’re not going to get game time / a new contract. So, are we going to be reliant on Ngumoha, Danns and Doak to fill the attacking slots on the bench?

Also the damned apology

If that one isn’t a piss-take then it’s delicious.

We need another striker anyway, due to what happened with Jota.

It’s possible that Ekitike and Isak would start together, but I can also see rotation and regular substitutions between the pair (if we did sign Isak). I can’t see Ekitike starting on the left or right. We still need someone up front to provide strong competition and provide variations where maybe we play with two up front, and not use a straight up No.10 in games.

Very exciting that we could go for Isak, and although my dream would be Alvarez, Isak seems to want a move, and is already hitting prime numbers. An elite forward wanting to move to the champions. I’m on board!
